Gassin walks

An easy walk suitable for everyone. A route along the valley floor with views of the Maures, Gassin and La Croix Valmer. The path winds through beautiful vineyards and the vegetation of the lower Var, with mimosas in bloom in January and February. A circular route that can be walked in either direction without increasing the difficulty; only the views will be different.

This short route includes a pleasant walk through the forests overlooking Ramatuelle and a visit to a treasure of Provençal heritage.

The mills of Paillas are a classic destination for walks in the beautiful and very authentic village of Ramatuelle. Here is an alternative to the "Les moulins de Paillas à Ramatuelle" walk published in 2020, with a different approach that avoids paved roads as much as possible.

Nestled in the hills above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the village of Ramatuelle offers a timeless escape. This walk invites you to stroll through its narrow streets, lined with houses with ochre facades and pastel shutters, where every turn reveals a shaded square, a discreet fountain or a panorama of the Var hills.Along the way, you will discover the Church of Notre-Dame, the medieval ramparts and a few artisan workshops that perpetuate the Provençal spirit. The song of the cicadas accompanies your steps, while the scents of jasmine and fig trees awaken your senses. An ideal getaway for lovers of heritage, tranquillity and southern charm.

To the south of the Saint-Tropez peninsula lies a vast natural area with virtually no housing. Only a few forest tracks and rare paths criss-cross this protected natural site dotted with steep hills and a few valleys where vines flourish. All around, the Mediterranean Sea laps against a preserved shoreline, where a few beaches protected by Cap Lardier and Cap Taillat invite you to take a refreshing break.

This loop takes you along a narrow, steep and sometimes rugged coastal path, but the turquoise waters and unspoilt wildlife of the two headlands are well worth the detour.

Head to the ridges of the Faucon trail and return along the banks of the Môle river.

This walk begins on the bustling quays of Saint-Tropez, where the hulls of boats dance to the rhythm of the reflections. We walk along the jetty to the lighthouse, a red sentinel facing the horizon, before returning along the seafront, between sunny terraces and pastel-coloured façades. Then, you climb up to the old town, with its cobbled streets, flower-filled balconies and memories of a fishing village that has become legendary. An easy circular loop, between sea splashes and Provençal memories, ideal for strolling along the water's edge and through time.

A beautiful walk along the coast on an easy trail in a protected area. Be careful in rough seas at the start of the circuit, as there is a section at risk of flooding.

This walk between Escalet and Cap Taillat is a classic in the Ramatuelle area. We did it again to see Cap Taillat five years after the terrible fire that devastated it in July 2017.

This is a fairly short route starting from Bonne Terrasse, allowing you to explore Cap Camarat with ease and return via the lighthouse and a beautiful forest track.

Between nature and town, this loop takes in Grimaud and its must-sees: the Chapelle Saint-Roch, the Pont des Fées and the Vallon de la Garde on the outskirts of the village, the church of Saint-Michel, the village's typical narrow streets, the Tour de l'Horloge, the Chapelle des Pénitents and the Château de Grimaud.

A pleasant hike in Grimaud in the hinterland of Saint-Tropez. The circuit starts near a renovated windmill, then passes near a bridge that was once used as an aqueduct called Pont des Fées. It continues through the beautiful Garde valley, where vineyards, wild olive trees and heath alternate. The return route crosses the old town of Grimaud and passes by the castle.

This is a short loop offering beautiful views of the Mediterranean coast on varied and sometimes challenging terrain. The trail starts among beautiful villas with sea views, then follows a balcony path above the coastline to a lovely beach, and returns via an old railway line. This walk is best suited to sure-footed walkers who are not afraid of tackling the climbs right from the start.

A beautiful loop where you can enjoy all the scents of Mediterranean flora and magnificent views throughout the hike. The route has a steep climb at the start, but this is quickly forgotten thanks to the views it offers. Although part of the route is on a tarmac road, this is fine as there is always something to look at.

This final stage, which links La Garde-Freinet to Roquebrune-sur-Argens, is part of the Grande Traversée des Maures "Montem Maurum". This diagonal route across the Maures mountains offers magnificent views amid varied and wild vegetation. The Rocher de Roquebrune appears from an original angle, in all its dazzling beauty.

In the hinterland of Saint-Tropez, a beautiful hike allows you to discover the old town of La Garde-Freinet, beautiful landscapes of heathland and cork oak forests, as well as the Roches Blanches, a rocky outcrop of quartz. Not to mention the Croix des Maures and Fort Freinet, carved into the rock in the Middle Ages.
