Start from the car park at Escalet Beach.
(DA) As you leave the car park, turn right past the chip shops and other ‘chichis’.
(1) At the three-way junction, follow the boulevard south-west; it is a dead end, and at the end the coastal path begins on the left.
(2) The coastal path follows the seafront and eventually joins the coastal walkway, which is slightly higher up.
Follow this path, which has been marked out to protect the flora and fauna from being trampled.
(3) At Pointe de la Douane, there are several beaches to choose from, and on the strip of land connecting Cap Taillat, you can select a sheltered spot for a swim depending on the wind.
Continue towards this isthmus, all you have to do is follow the path and, at the end, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view from this small summit: an old watchtower offering a 360° panorama, stretching from Cap Camarat to the east – with its semaphore station keeping watch over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez – to the Porquerolles Islands to the west, with the Bastide Blanche vineyard and Cap Lardier in the foreground.
(4) Return via the same route (S/E).
