Park in the Saint-Roch mill car park next to the cemetery.
(S/E) At the car park, look for the stairs on the right and go down them. Follow the path, which makes three hairpin bends, then walk along the river (the Garde), overlooking it on the right bank, to reach the Pont des Fées.
(1) Continue along the path, leaving two tracks on your right, until you reach a fork.
(2) Continue left on the path marked in blue. Go through the wooden gate. The path on the right is actually the return leg of the "Pont des Fées" loop, marked in white, which leads back to the Saint-Roch mill near the car park.
The path joins a wide track on the right and runs alongside an area planted with vines and olive trees. Cross the Garde on the bridge. This is a place where Hermann's tortoises can sometimes be found. Further on, leave a path on the left and arrive at a footbridge and a ford.
(3) The footbridge or ford is actually the return point of the "Le Pierredon" loop, marked in blue.
Continue on the main path marked in orange, which becomes paved and is called Chemin Pré Saint-Michel. You will reach a new bridge over the Garde.
Note: small passages provide access to the river. Very pretty scenery.
(4) Turn right, cross the bridge and continue on the Chemin de la Paved Slanting Street, which is tarmac. At the Saint-Joseph oratory, keep right on the Chemin Saint-Joseph, which leads to the village of Grimaud. When you reach the main road D558, follow it for about 100 metres.
(5) Look for the beautiful fountain at the crossroads and turn right onto Montée Saint-Joseph. You will arrive at a beautiful square.
Turn right onto Avenue de la Cabre d'Or (cabre = goat). Pass in front of the Saint-Roch Chapel, then turn right onto Chemin Saint-Roch, which leads to the mill. Admire the mill, the cross and the works of art that adorn the site. Beautiful view of the castle.
Continue along the path and descend to the car park where you started (S/E).
. We added a visit to Saint Michel Church and a climb up to the castle before finishing off in style at the mill (which is closed).
