Description of the walk

Yellow markings (Route No. 11 Destination Brocéliande).

(S/E) Park near the church or the town hall. Take Rue Beaumanoir towards Helléan for about a hundred metres, then turn right into Rue de la Brassée to reach a junction where you’ll find thefirst cross (named after the street). Continue straight ahead.

(1) At the next junction, continue straight ahead then take the path through the woods where there is a second cross (the Beau Soleil cross). Continue along the path on the left to return to the previous road.

(2) Turn left towards the hamlet of La Ville Houët. Walk through it, then take the path on the right and continue along a track on the left at the edge of the woods. Continue straight on along the dirt track leading to Le Boux.

(3) Cross the small hamlet opposite (junction with route No. 16), continuing to the left, and just after the old renovated houses, take the path leading to La Coudraie.

(4) Off the route: 100 m to the left is the Croix de la Coudraie. Head down into the village and continue straight on along a path (ignore route No. 16, which branches off to the right) near the last house. Follow it to reach the D169 at La Perrière.

(5) Cross it carefully and head opposite along the path that goes round the waste disposal site. Turn left then right to reach La Ville Meno.

(6) Walk through the hamlet and, as you leave, note the Croix de la Ville Meno. After the cross, head to the main road and follow it for about a hundred metres to the Croix de la Ville Dan.

(7) At the cross, turn right onto the Route de la Ville Dan and, just before heading down the dirt track, take the path on the left. Then turn right onto a path through a cleared patch of woodland . Head back into the woods leading to Caruhel.

(8) Enter the hamlet and, just after the last house on the right, take the small path that descends towards the greenway and the GR® 37. At the greenway, turn left.

(9) Leave the GR® which continues straight on towards the village and carry on to the right along the path leading to the Fontaine Saint-Bertin.

(10) At the fountain, take the path that runs alongside the towpath of the Nantes-Brest Canal and head towards a picnic area.

(11) This time, follow the canal towpath for 1 km until you reach a crêperie-café.

(12) Do not head back up towards the road but go under the bridge that passes beneath the road and, at the car park, take a path that leads off opposite into the woodland, eventually joining the GR® 37 again. Follow it to the right for a few metres, then take the path on the left leading to La Touche de Bas and the Chemin de l’Herbinaye (cross on the left).

(13) Before the hamlet of La Touche, turn right onto the dirt track and, at the road, turn left towards La Gruge and Le Temple.

(14) Walk through the hamlet of Le Temple and, on leaving, turn left then follow the path (another cross) leading to the D122. Walk alongside it for about a hundred metres.

(15) Turn onto the path through the woods that runs alongside the road. Take thesecond path on the right that leads into the woods (Croix de la Lande du Temple) and, further down, turn onto the path on the left. Then turn left again towards the village. Cross Rue du Moulin, then Rue Guimard and Rue des Carouges to reach the town hall (S/E).
