Description of the walk

Park along the path near the site, which is surrounded by woodland and therefore offers plenty of shade. The yellow markings are very clearly signposted and correspond to route No. 16 of “Destination Brocéliande”.

(S/E) Go round the site via the sunken path that runs close to the RN 24. Cross the road opposite via the footpath, turn right onto the dirt track and come out onto the road leading to Helléan (D169).

(1) Turn left onto the road, then cross carefullyabout 50 metres further on to join the dirt track on the right. Then turn left at a 90° angle onto the signposted grassy path leading to the hamlet of La Houssaie.

(2) Turn right then left onto the descending street: a house dating from 1717 is on the right. Just past the house, turn right onto the sunken lane that descends towards the valley and leads to a crossroads.

(3) Follow the dirt track on the right which initially runs alongside the River Ninian, then continue along the main track which branches off to reach a road.

(4) Turn left onto this road, which descends and passes under the A24. Once you have passed under the bridge, turn right onto the uphill road that runs alongside the A24.

(5) At the hamlet of Abbaye aux Oies, leave the road you have been following and turn left onto another road that descends towards the valley.

(6) Leave the road and continue straight on along the dirt track, following it to the hamlet of Le Boux, where it joins route No. 11.

(7) Turn right, pass some old renovated houses and take the small path leading to La Coudraie.

(8) Head down into the hamlet and leave Route No. 11, which continues straight on, to take the path on the right that descends into the woodland. Then turn left onto the uphill dirt track leading to the hamlet of Brangoyan.

(9) Turn right (old 17th-century house), take a right-hand bend followed by a left-hand bend to cross the hamlet. Join the RD169.

(10) Turn right onto it, go under the RN 24 bridge and follow another departmental road on the left which leads to the Colonne des Trente site and the car park (S/E).
