Château-Landon walks

This walk follows the city's monument trail and adds the canal, ponds and promenade along the Fusain to combine a cultural approach with the discovery of bucolic landscapes.

A lovely route along the banks of the Loing, exploring the ponds surrounding Souppes-sur-Loing. Visit Nemours with its Chaintreauville Fountain, bridges covered in flowers in spring, beautiful church with its bell on the ground and the bridge over the Loing blessed by Pius VII. Arrange for transport for the return journey.

A circular route passing by the lakes of Dordives, taking the "Chemin de César" (Caesar's path), then the Gâtinais countryside to end up in Château-Landon, where you can explore its medieval past. The return journey follows the Canal du Loing with the Néronville canal bridge.

Discover a variety of landscapes, including the Fusain Valley and Château-Landon on a limestone plateau overlooking Fusain. See Saint-Séverin Abbey, the little brother of Mont Saint-Michel, the Romanesque tower, the Templar Chapel, and the Grand Étang de Dordives lake with its water sports centre. A beautiful day ahead without too much elevation gain.

In the footsteps of our Neolithic ancestors, this hike takes you to no fewer than eight sites with polishers, blocks of abrasive stone (here sandstone) that were used to shape everyday tools and weapons. The trail was designed and signposted by the Pays de Nemours Community of Communes.

An easy hike in the Nemours National Forest. The path is very sandy and almost always in the shade. In autumn, at the end of the hike, between Les Brulis and La Mer de Sable, if the heather is in bloom, you can enjoy a beautiful rocky landscape.

A hike from station to station that mainly follows the towpath of the Canal Loing. Before reaching the canal, you cross a municipal park and a small maze of rocks. Along the way, the canal's surroundings become increasingly bucolic and reveal an interesting industrial heritage.

A hike from station to station that starts along the Canal du Loing and the river that gave it its name. A circular hike around the Étang de la Clarette allows you to observe numerous birds before admiring the rich heritage of the commune of Grez-sur-Loing. The hike ends mainly through fields.

Discover the village of Paucourt and its forest, a veritable green lung in the heart of the Montargis national forest.

The route starts at the church in Bromeilles, nicknamed the Mont Saint-Michel of the Gatinais as it is perched on a hilltop and its bell tower can be seen from a great distance. The route passes through fields and woods, offering a beautiful view of the village of Puiseaux from the Butte Jaune.

Circular starting from the lakeside town of Montargis, known as the Venice of Gatinais. The junctions of the Briare, Orléans and Loing canals made it a veritable river crossroads between the Loire and Seine basins until the Orléans canal was decommissioned in 1954. Follow the waterways through the Loing valley, passing rivers, canals and lakes.

Ranked among the most beautiful sites in France, explore Montargis through its streets on the water with 131 bridges and footbridges. A gastronomic and lakeside town nicknamed the Venice of Gâtinais.

Mainly a country trail that passes through the hills of Bardilly and offers a panoramic view of the Gâtinais. No particular difficulty.

A circuit to the east of Lorrez-le-Bocage, along the Lunain in places with views of Lorrez-le-Bocage both to the south and north. The starting point is the car park in Place de la République in Lorrez-le-Bocage.

Beautiful walk in the Dame Jouanne massif with magnificent views and a few curiosities.

The Gatinais trail leads through woods and fields, heading first to the hamlet of Le Pont. In the second half, the passage through the Chatillon valley offers pleasant views of Puiseaux.

This urban route is exclusively intramural, exploring all the existing squares in the town of Puiseaux, in northern Loiret. It is a route without any particular difficulty.

Tour of the Commanderie Forest, with numerous viewpoints over the village of Larchant and its basilica. Nine kilometres with some steep climbs and a few rocky sections on a very shady route. If you don't make any noise, you may be surprised by the passing of a deer or a roe deer.

A short stroll around this charming lake, home to swans, green-necked ducks and many other migratory birds when the time comes. Photographers, get your cameras ready...

Take a loop around the Étang de la Clarette, with a short historical walk along the Loing and through the wonderful village of Gretz-sur-Loing. Very pleasant, with unforgettable views along the Loing.

The very enjoyable scent of pine is everywhere. And the small sand dune that I would the "Little Dune of Pyla" is lovely.

A hike from station to station in the south-east of the Forest of Fontainebleau. In addition to passing through two pretty villages, the start and end of this route follow good forest paths. In between, you follow trails that wind through rocky terrain, with several beautiful viewpoints, the lovely Mare aux Fées and the Grotte Béatrix.

A hike from station to station, mainly through forest, crossing the rocky chaos of Maunoury, Dame Jouanne and Éléphant, which are every bit as impressive as those in the neighbouring Fontainebleau Forest. The village of Larchant, with its church and a few old houses, adds a superb touch of heritage.

A hike from station to station through the eastern part of the Forest of Fontainebleau, which is not the most popular area of this forest. The forest trail alternates between wide paths and trails that wind through rocky terrain. Several viewpoints offer extensive panoramic views.

An easy hike with two bird observatories at the Plaine de Sorques, a sensitive natural area. Bring binoculars.

A hike from station to station starting from Montigny-sur-Loing. A varied route through the forest with a few rocks and the banks of the Loing. The Loing valley is an authentic green paradise that can be explored over a medium distance via footpaths, rural tracks and towpaths. This route takes you along the river and the canal of the same name, which flow side by side until they meet the Seine.

A circular route around the Étang de la Genevraye and a visit to the Marais d'Episy, which presents no difficulty.

An easy, almost entirely flat hike from Episy to Ecuelles via theGR® de Pays du Lunain, passing behind the Episy aerodrome. The return journey is along the towpath beside the Canal du Loing. This route is easily manageable for a brave child.

Circular starting from the charming village of Recloses. Rocks and forest slightly different from the forest of Fontainebleau.

After a short climb up Mont Marion, you will skirt around the Plaine de Sorques, which is a sensitive natural area and a bird sanctuary.

We pass on either side of a valley where the beautiful village of Boissy-aux-Cailles is located, following paths wide enough to walk two abreast while chatting, or trails in single file. The variety of tree species is surprising: oak, chestnut, birch, beech, pine, etc. And also on the edges of agricultural fields where lavender grows alongside beetroot and cereals.The best times to enjoy it to the full are late spring (May-June), when the flora dazzles us with its colours and scents, and autumn (mid-September-October), when the leaves of the trees are adorned with their yellow, ochre and red colours and accompanied by the rich and subtle smells of mushrooms and sometimes game.

A hike through fields for the most part, which conceals a very rich heritage: three Romanesque churches, an old mill, an old watchtower, a castle and a menhir. Five metal crosses mark the route around the pretty, flower-filled village of Flagy.
