Circular Aubouissous in Calmont

Park in the Calmont cemetery car park, 2 Rue du Faou (around fifteen spaces).

(S/E) Walk up alongside the cemetery and take the path that climbs up to the ridge (the climb is not too steep).

(1) When the path meets the road, follow the road to the left (Chemin de Paillole) which runs along the ridge (beautiful view of the plain). After descending the ridge, you will arrive at a road.

(2) Take it to the left until you reach the junction with another road.

(3) Turn right and follow the road until you reach a Y-junction, then keep right until you reach another intersection.

(4) Follow the small path on the right that climbs towards the top of the ridge. You will come to a crossroads.

(5) Stay on the path on the left until you reach the top.

(6) Take the path on the left until you reach a barrier.

(7) Go through the barrier that prevents cars from passing opposite and you will arrive at the edge of the forest.

(8) Turn left and walk downhill along the field. Follow the path through the Ravin d'Aubuissou (caution: the descent is steep. Do not attempt in wet weather).

(9) At the bottom, turn left onto the path until you reach another path.

(10) Continue straight ahead (on the right, there is a beautiful view of the castle on the other side of the Hers). Follow this path to the crossroads you passed on the way there.

(4) Continue straight ahead, in the opposite direction to the outward journey, until you reach the road junction you passed on the way out.

(3) Continue straight ahead to the car park (S/E)

The trail is poorly marked, so follow the GPX track. Be careful, there are two climbs which, although short, are steep.

When you arrive in Calmont and cross the bridge, you will have a beautiful view of a brick fortified house.
