Park near the Gardouch lock.
(S/E) From the lock, head towards the barges moored at the bank and follow the dirt track along the Canal du Midi, which becomes a footpath.
(1) After the bend in the canal, turn right onto the wide farm track that leads to the D625.
(2) Cross over and make a quick first turn right then left to follow the tarmac road, then the dirt track that climbs towards the radio antenna (direction signs).
(3) Turn left onto the tarmac road, which becomes a farm track after the last houses. Go around the small hill on the right to pass in front of a calvary. Continue along this dirt track uphill to reach the edge of a wood. Turn left to follow it and reach a tarmac road, which you must follow downhill to the junction with the D72j.
(4) Turn right, continue to the Y-junction, and continue uphill on the right.
(5) At the flat section, descend the dirt track on the left towards the Ruisseau du Caransou stream. Cross it, then turn right and follow it along the cliff edge. Continue straight ahead to reach the D16.
(6) Caution: heavy traffic, drive carefully. Turn right at the first bend, do not cross the bridge but follow the small road to the right and turn left onto the dirt track about 150 metres further on. Pass Les Gravettes, turn right opposite the farm shed and go up the dirt track to reach Ornolac, where you will find a wayside cross at the corner of the road.
(7) Follow the tarmac road of Cammas on the right. Turn left at the first crossroads, leaving a dead end on the left. At the next crossroads, turn left to join the D622 road. Caution: heavy traffic, drive carefully
(8) Turn right onto the pavement, which will take you back to the lock and the starting point (S/E).
. In any case, I highly recommend this walk
