Description of the walk

Yellow marked PR®

(S/E) From the car park, Place de la Mairie, take Rue du Calvaire (D787) towards Pontrieux and continue to the roundabout.

(1) Turn left towards the sports field, then immediately right towards Kergleurec, where the road ends. Continue along the path that joins a road (17th-century cross).

(2) Follow this road to the right, which passes through Kernabat and crosses another road at Kervégan. Continue past the Cloarec house, ignore a road on the right that joins the D787 and follow the path that leads to a fork.

(3) Turn left at a right angle and continue along the path overlooking the left bank of the Trieux. On the other bank, you can see the Bois de Penhoat-Lancerf and, in a clearing, Traou Nevez, the site of the Seznec Affair and a stop on the "La Vapeur du Trieux" tourist train. Further upstream, the Château de la Roche Jagu dominates a bend in the river. Continue until you reach a large farm.

(4) Turn right onto a narrow path that leads to the small Saint-Antoine Chapel, passing in front of its cross (about 200 m round trip).

(5) Retrace your steps, then continue to the right and you will come to a road. Follow it to the right, then to the left at Ty Guen. Pass Traou Meur and its 17th-century manor house, then go up along a small cove on your right, where there is a tide mill.

(6) Turn right onto a dirt track heading due east, rejoin a small road and continue to a place called Le Passage. Turn right and, after a bend, take the access road to the Traou Meur tide mill (private).

(7) Follow the left bank of the Trieux, where there are oyster beds, ignore a road on the left and continue straight ahead.

(8) Turn left, leaving the banks of the Trieux, pass Porz Lec'h and turn right at the road. In the left-hand bend, continue straight ahead along a northbound farm track. In a bend, leave this wide track, keep to the right and continue along this track, which forms a sharp hook before joining a small road at Convenant Folory. Take this road to the left.

(9) Turn right onto a path, cross a road at a place called Le Caven and join the (S/E) with its chapel dating from 1716, a cross and an adjoining fountain: an ideal place for a break. Continue along the cove and join the D787.

(10) Follow this departmental road to the right for about 100 m with caution, then leave it for a small road on the left at a place called Camarel. At the crossroads, turn left and continue through a wooded area along the path that turns left to rejoin the D787.

(11) First turn right then left to cross this road with caution and continue along the small road towards Traou Bihan. After the houses, turn right onto a path between the fields that leads to the Coz Arhant farm (cross).

(12) At the road, turn right and then right again to rejoin the D787 near the water treatment plant, where you will find another cross.

(13) Follow this departmental road, on the left, for about 100 m with caution, then turn right towards the park and, almost immediately left, onto a wooded path towards the village of Pleudaniel. Pass in front of the school and return to the starting point along the multi-purpose hall (S/E).

A pleasant walk along the Trieux riverbank at low tide. During the walk, you can see the top of the Château de la Roche Jagu, the Trieux river, and some pretty farmhouses. A lovely stroll

Under beautiful sunshine, a pleasant little hike, very good descriptions, and lovely panoramic views. Not much tarmac and, to finish, a little detour to the Château de la Roche Jagu.

Stunning views of the Château de la Roche-Jagu and the famous house from the Seznec affair, a lovely walk overlooking the River Trieux. No signposts and sometimes a little confusing. An owner of large waterfront villas at the chapel who lets his dogs (small, snappy, I'm talking about the dogs) run free. Beautiful scenery. I did wonder a little about the locals' desire to see hikers there. A somewhat harsh rural environment.

A pleasant walk on a beautiful afternoon in the height of summer. No technical difficulties. As the yellow markings are faded or missing in places, it is important to follow the route description or the precise route on the IGN 0815SB "Paimpol - Pontrieux" map, or even the GPX track.
Numerous calvaries and two charming Breton chapels, as well as a beautiful tide mill. The section along the Trieux is really beautiful. We were lucky enough to see the little Trieux steam train running along the other bank.

Hello,
Hike on: Thursday, 2 July 2020.
A pleasant route with beautiful views from the Lézardrieux bridge. We didn't encounter any other hikers and there was very little tarmac, but don't forget your GPS or map as the trail disappears under the vegetation in many places.

I recommend this hike to everyone

Thank you for this advice.
Even when a route is marked, you should always have the description and map with you, as the markings can fade or be incomplete or even vandalised in places.
The main thing is that you enjoyed the route.

Best wishes for your future use of Visorando.

Hello.
A beautiful route along the Trieux.
But you absolutely must bring a map and a description of the route.
The markings are very difficult to see or non-existent!
Otherwise, it's a lovely walk.
Best regards
