From Lédano to Lancerf, following the Trieux

An easy walk along the water’s edge through a landscape typical of Goëlo. Half the route follows the banks of the Ria du Trieux, which is flooded by the sea with the tides.
In the second part, you’ll walk through fields of vegetables (artichokes, cauliflowers, potatoes...) – crops that are emblematic of this rich agricultural region.
Please note that parts of this route may be impassable during high tides.

Description of the walk

Park at the Lédano Beach car park. GPS: N 48.776287°/ W 3.100882°

(S/E) Leave the car park and turn left onto the coastal path, following it to Pont Dervan. At the end of the path, turn right onto the stony track.

(1) Turn right and head down to the beach. Follow it to Lancerf station (the Tieux steamboat route: Paimpol–Guingamp).
Please note that parts of this route may be impassable during high tides.

(2) Leave the beach at Lancerf station.
Take the uphill road, Route de la Gare. At the Marcel Cachin crossroads, turn left to reach the Lancerf Chapel.

(3) After admiring this remarkably restored building, leave the grounds and head straight on to Route de Huellan, cross Route de Keroulic and take Route de Kericun opposite.

(4) After a right-hand bend, continue along Route de Kericun. Cross Avenue du Trieux and continue straight ahead onto a dirt track. Turn left onto a path leading down through the woods to reach the hamlet of Landouézec.

(5) Continue right along the tarmac road, Chemin de Landouézec. Cross the hamlet of Le Cosquer between a wayside shrine and a wash house to reach a level crossing and cross it.

(6) Turn immediately left onto Chemin de Poul Ranet. Follow this path, which runs parallel to the railway line, towards the hamlet of Poul Ranet. Turn left after the farm towards the level crossing without crossing it.

(7) Turn right onto Chemin du Ledano and follow it to the car park at Lédano Beach. Halfway along, on the left a few metres away, you will find the Saint Erwan (Saint-Yves) fountain and its wash house. Arrive at the car park at Lédano Beach.

Notes

Best undertaken at high tide. From the coastal path between points (1) and (2), you will discover a veritable inland lake covering 350 hectares.
The route between points (2) and (3) runs along the edge of the foreshore, parts of which may be flooded during high tides.

Check the tide times before setting off.

Hello
A pleasant route to do two hours before or after high tide. Beautiful views of the estuary; the second half of this easy route is rural, featuring well-restored old Breton farmhouses. Don’t forget to look out for the commemorative plaque to Marcel Cachin, former editor of the newspaper “L’Humanité”, who was born in Paimpol and lived in Lancerf, at the crossroads between the station and the chapel set in its green surroundings.
However, please be careful: the yellow markings on this route are old, sometimes faded, sometimes inaccurate: you must always refer to the map

A lovely walk. I altered the route slightly (+1 km) to go and see the monolithic crosses. After the chapel (3), head straight on along Route de Huellan, then turn right into the cul-de-sac leading to a grassy path. At the corner of a house, take the road on the right: 30 metres further on, the crosses (13th century) are well worth a look.
Then retrace your steps along the Route Alain Barbetorte; at the end, turn left to rejoin the route.
Between (7) and the finish: head down the path on the left to discover the peaceful, flower-filled St Erwan fountain, with a bench and a beautiful view.
