Beautiful snowshoe hike in powder snow to the peaks of Mont Margeriaz.

The Margériaz mountain is equipped for downhill skiing. However, its ridges are accessible on snowshoes, offering a pleasant route that partly bypasses the snow stadium and provides magnificent views. The open terrain allows for a unique approach by moonlight.

This hike follows the Tannes et Glacières trail and is rounded off with a visit to the faults of Mont Margeriaz. To make the most of the Tannes et Glacières trail, pick up the little guidebook on sale at the tourist office in Aillon le Jeune.

A two-loop circuit to reach a viewpoint overlooking Les Bauges and far beyond. There are a few information panels about the forest along the route. Directional signs at the main intersections.

This is a little-used hike that takes you to the fragile Croix du Plane, anchored on its isolated rock. From the surrounding mountain pastures, you can admire the panorama of some of the legendary peaks of Les Bauges. While the route along the track and the shortcuts that allow you to cut across the switchbacks are fairly obvious, in the mountain pastures you will need to have a good sense of direction and not hesitate to use your compass.
