Circuit around the Col de la Cochette and the Altar of the Priest in Arith

The Shepherds' Cross

This is a family hike that can be enjoyed in any season between two resorts in the Massif des Bauges.

Snowshoeing - Orionde circuit.

L'Orionde is not the best known or most popular spot on this circuit, but it offers panoramic views to the east and west.
The most famous site is, of course, the Croix du Nivolet, which, for once, happens to be on the route.
All in all, a beautiful loop with a succession of panoramic views.
Pointe de la Galoppaz from the Lindar roundabout

A classic destination in the Bauges Regional Nature Park, the Pointe de la Galoppaz offers a sweeping panorama of the Bauges and all the mountain ranges of the Northern Alps. This spot is very popular with gliders, paragliders and birds of prey.

A beautiful hike to the Croix du Nivolet. A very varied and enjoyable route throughout.
La Croix du Nivolet, via the ladders

Montagne du Charbon - Pointe de Banc Plat

A lovely getaway in the Bauges mountains, with a round trip to the Pointe de Banc Plat (one of the two main peaks of the Montagne du Charbon). Although not very high, the Pointe de Banc Plat offers a remarkable panoramic view (the Montagne du Charbon is the northern part of the Trelod chain). The forest trail at the foot of the Montagne du Charbon is splendid.
Footbridge circuit from Saint-Jean-d'Arvey

This is a pleasant route to walk at any time of year, particularly in late autumn as it enjoys plenty of sunshine.
The route of the Himalayan footbridge at Trou de l'Enfer allows you to discover the curious meanders of the Leysse.
Le Roc de Four Magnin
This is an extension of the snowshoe circuit described this winter.
The Roc de Four Magnin is not named on IGN maps, but the 1645m point is marked.

Saint Jean de la Porte heritage site
A hike in the southern foothills of the Bauges mountains to discover the vineyards, winegrowers' huts and landscapes.
Well-appointed viewpoints tell the story of the local history.

Rock paintings of Mont Peney

A short walk above the town to meet distant artists. Panorama of the valley and the Chartreuse massif opposite.
Ternèse Canyon and Trou de l'Enfer from Le Boyat

Discover this magnificent route on the outskirts of Chambéry. Passing by the Ternèse stream (canyon) and the Trou de l'Enfer site where the Leysse river has carved its way through, this hike offers a complete change of scenery in a wild environment.
Mont Saint-Michel Chapel loop, starting from Curienne

Admittedly, this route from Curienne is not the shortest way to reach the Chapel of Mont Saint-Michel! However, it offers the opportunity to (re)discover the very pleasant Chemin de la Paraie, the stele and farm of the Maquisards, the motte castrale of La Bognette, and superb views of Chambéry and the surrounding mountains.
Although technically easy and with little elevation gain, this hike is classified as "moderate" due to its length.
Chemin des Vignes from Bout du Monde to Passerelle du Trou de l'Enfer

A beautiful walk along the Leysse gorges and through the old vineyards of Saint-Jean-d'Arvey.
The trail, while not particularly difficult, can be a little steep and slippery.
It offers superb views of the Leysse and the cliffs of Mont Peney.
Chapelle Saint-Michel via Bellevarde and the Stèle

The Mont Saint-Michel Chapel, which is clearly visible from the Chambéry basin, is often the destination for a Sunday afternoon walk starting from Montmerlet above Curienne. There is only a hundred metres or so of elevation gain.
The trail is very well marked.
