Gorges du Verdon - Sentier Blanc-Martel

A beautiful walk up the Verdon by its bed ! A feast for the eyes from start to finish !
⚠️The Sentier Martel is not very difficult for regular walkers, but you have to be careful. However, the trickiest part is the Imbert ladders (6 ladders, 252 steps), which are difficult for hikers prone to vertigo.
The difference in altitude is overestimated. See comments at the bottom of this page
Les Cavaliers - The Imbut Trail - Baou Beni - Vidal Trail

The Imbut trail is a hike that lets you discover the Verdon in the heart the gorge and the river bed. Extraordinary landscapes await you but this hike is difficult and certain sections on the cliffs (Chemin Vidal) and through rocks (section until the Baou Beni), require a good level of physical fitness. Be careful of vertigo!
The altitude calculated by the software is a little high, it's closer to about 800m.
The SENTIER DE L'IMBUT has been closed since July 2022 by municipal decree. It is still closed as of today 10/26/23 until further notice (risk of landslides/landslides).

The lower Verdon Gorges in Artignosc

A pretty walk off the beaten path. The views are breathtaking in diverse landscapes, all from the beautiful little hilltop village of Artignosc-sur-Verdon.

The Lower Verdon Gorges

Wonderful hike through the Lower Verdon Gorges, starting in Quinson.
The Gorges de Trévans, via the Chapelle Saint-André

Magnificent gorges, especially in autumn. The climb up to the Chapelle Saint-André is a 2km round trip, but the view from the top is well worth the diversions.
You will pass through the remains of the hamlet of Valbonnette. A little further on, another detour of around a hundred metres, to see the ruins of a house, where a large round pillar has remained in its centre, still with the notches used to fix the wooden beams on two levels.

Cadières de Brandis from the Col des Lèques

Tour of the Barre de la Sapée and Rocher du Castel de Ruel, via Cadières de Brendis, from the Col des Lèques, with superb views of the Verdon and surrounding area from the summit.
La Colle loop (Autour de la Colle), Esparron-de-Verdon

Sainte-Anne Chapel in Claviers

Ascent to the Sainte-Anne Chapel, located 624 m above sea level on the western summit of the Plateau du Puy, passing by the ruins of a Ligurian oppidum. Easy hike in the Provence scrubland and forest (thyme, lavender, rock rose...)
The Barre des Dourbes ridge

Long north-south oriented ridge, the Barre des Dourbes ridge separates the basin of Digne-les-Bains from the Barrême syncline.
Rising in stages over twenty kilometres, culminating Pic de Couar some 1988 m above sea level.
Carcés and Caramy Falls

This hike will visit the village of Carcés, Carcés Lake and the splendid Caramy Falls. Best in the spring when the water flow is stronger.
You also will take a part of the path of Saint Jacques de Compostela.
The Salt Well of Tartonne

This easy hike will take you to the remarkable church of Tartonne, the unusual Puits Salé (salt well) and its protective dyke, and some of the hamlets of Tartonne. Superb views of the Asse and Clumanc valleys.
The Laval farm
On 6 April 1944, the Maquis de la Ferme Laval was defeated after around twenty resistance fighters battled Nazi soldiers and militiamen for over six hours. This easy walk from Lambruisse takes you to the site of this tragedy.
