Description of the walk

(S/E) At the nursery school, leave the D23 and head towards the shuttle car park. Go past the car park and take the path on the right onto the Chemin de la Fontaine des Prés. Then take a climb on the right leading to a hill above the village.

(1) Turn left and then head towards the Boulogne neighbourhood.

(2) Turn left and follow the track to a path that climbs to the right, marked in yellow.

(3) Follow it towards Dent d'Aire. The climb is gradual at first under a canopy of Scots pines, then becomes steeper until you reach the Route des Crêtes.

(4) Then follow the road to the right to reach the Dent d'Aire viewpoint.
This is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the canyon. From the viewpoint, we recommend descending to the promontory overlooking the Grand Canyon.

(5) Return via the same route or hitchhike to discover the rest of this magnificent road (S/E).

Notes

This trail allows people without vehicles to access the magnificent Dent d'Aire viewpoint, one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, views of the Gorges du Verdon. The ideal way to see this viewpoint is still to take the Route des Crêtes by bike or car, favouring other trails, such as the Blanc-Martel, for example, to discover the Canyon.

overall an easy hike, with a clearly marked trail.
the start is in open terrain, so it's best to do it in the morning to avoid the heat.
a beautiful country walk with no real view of the gorges except at the arrival point at the viewpoint, which is superb and dizzying.

Very easy walk. Not very interesting if you have already done the ridge road route.

A lovely little walk, not too difficult, sometimes in the shade, sometimes in the open, with beautiful views of La Palud and the surrounding area.
Arrival at the Belvédère with magnificent views of the Verdon.
No major difficulties and well-marked route.

A tree-lined path that is a bit steep in places, but what a magnificent view when you reach the viewpoint: 7,700 metres of cliffs and, as a bonus, the flight of the vultures.
