Description of the walk

Park at the Vignal car park.

(S/E) Set off to the right and, at the cross, follow the D123 road (steep climb at the start). Pass the turn-off for Le Brec on your left and continue to the next forest track on the left, marked in yellow.

(1) Follow this track. Head uphill through the forest, first north-west, then west. Continue until you reach a second hairpin bend to the right, heading south-east.

(2) You can take a short detour to a viewpoint overlooking the village of La Palud. Otherwise, carry on until you reach the highest point of the route.

(3) Keep going straight ahead until the path starts to descend. Take two hairpin bends and, shortly after the second one, turn left until you reach a junction with theGR®4.

(4) Carry on straight ahead. This is the return journey through the forests of Barbin, with varied vegetation: beech woods on the north-facing slopes and boxwood and broom on the south-facing slopes. You’ll come to a track.

(5) Cut across it and continue down the slope. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the road. Keep going straight and pass the wayside shrine to reach Rue Grande.

(6) Turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
