Villandraut walks

This route takes you along the banks of the Ciron from Villandraut, simply following the GR®6 trail that links the Alps to Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Shade and coolness await you on this easy, pleasant walk in summer.

A beautiful circular route around Landiras on forest paths. The route does not include any roads, only the crossing of a departmental road. Between oak forests and Gironde moors.

Starting from the City Stade car park and the school (below the town hall of Pian-sur-Garonne), this hilly route alternates between vineyard paths, forest trails and nature trails, offering ideal terrain for trail running, but also suitable for mountain biking or, of course, hiking.Throughout the route, you will enjoy magnificent panoramic views: over the Garonne valley, with views of Saint-Macaire and Langon, the villages of Verdelais and Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, and a passage near the Château de Malromé, dear to Toulouse-Lautrec.It is a varied route that combines physical effort, nature and the discovery of the region's wine-growing heritage.

A lovely walk through the Loupiac vineyards, between paths and a few sections of road. The latter are always topped by an embankment for those who don't like tarmac... Note: route and description created from the Saint-Morillon Town Hall guidebook: Boucle des Anciennes Landes. 95% of the route follows paths through the woods and is very pleasant. It allows walkers to climb about 40 metres and cross a variety of landscapes. At the highest points, they will find themselves in what was once an area of moorland maintained for sheep. At the lowest points, they will feel the coolness of the Gât-Mort valley and the originality of its habitats. Experienced walkers will notice and appreciate the environmental changes along the way, both on the way up and on the way down, before returning to their starting point: the church square in the centre of the village of Saint-Morillon. At the end of the hike, you will walk along the Gât Mort stream, passing the ruins of the Lusié mill before returning to Saint-Morillon. The old mill was once part of a noble house purchased in 1754 by Montesquieu.

Hike in southern Gironde, with a succession of typical rural landscapes: old farms with tobacco drying sheds, the Landes de Gascogne forest and old mills. The route follows the yellow or green departmental markings, along quiet country roads and forest paths. Not to be done during the wood pigeon hunting season (early October to 15 November).

Luxey is a small rural village best known for its "street music" show, which monopolises the village for three days, but also for its many unmarked footpaths. This attracts walkers looking for sporting activities (walking, mountain biking, mountain biking). Unmarked trail. Area frequented by the hunting club (take care in season).

A peaceful ride through the green countryside of the Gironde, with very few vineyards for a change, but woods, hay meadows and green pastures, as well as streams, marshes and esteys, thanks to its proximity to the Garonne. Please note: a large part of the walk is on roads, so caution is advised

This walk through the vineyards is notable for its many wine châteaux, an ancient church with a pure Romanesque choir, and its significant production of lily of the valley. You will pass the Latour Martillac, Haut Nouchet and Cruzeau Martillac châteaux, located on the outskirts of the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Martillac, an Aquitaine village in southern Gironde, belongs to the Pessac Leognan wine region, giving its wines a prestigious appellation.

A circular through the Graves vineyards, passing by châteaux such as La Louvière, Carbonnieux, Le Thill, Le Pape and several others.

Here is a lovely walk east of Frontenac, along paths, trails and quiet roads. The highlight of the route is the Templar Commandery of Sallebruneau, a site steeped in history. It stands isolated in a serene and restful countryside, conducive to contemplation.

A bucolic hike with lots of undergrowth, meadows, cereal fields and a few vineyards... Very pleasant scenery, very few roads and a significant part of the route on the Lapébie trail. Option to shorten the route to around 8 km with a little more of the Lapébie trail and a little less undergrowth. See practical information

A short loop, suitable for all ages, to discover the vineyards and moors of Pessac-Léognan. Very few roads, beautiful views. Easy to follow.

An easy loop through vineyards and forest Just half an hour from Bordeaux, Lac Beu de Léognan is hidden away in the middle of a forest park. It is a place much loved by families and other walkers for its bucolic setting and tranquillity.

Discovery hike along the Eau Blanche stream. It rises in Lipomey, south-southeast of Léognan. It winds through the forest before crossing Léognan and heading towards Cadaujac and then Courrejan, where it flows into the Garonne. The hike runs along the left bank of the vineyards of the Châteaux de France, Fieuzal and Le Sartre, Pessac-Léognan grands crus classés. On the way back, it runs along the right bank, crosses Mignoy, and passes near Château Chevaliner, another Pessac-Léognan grand cru classé.

Between Cestas and Léognan, there are wide open spaces for beautiful, healthy walks, whatever the season. This is a walk that can be enjoyed with the family at a leisurely pace, but is also perfect for Nordic walking. Between the two lakes, the landscape is constantly changing, as both the vineyards and the forest take on a different appearance depending on the season and how they are used.

In the privileged environment of the Bordeaux suburbs, there are many opportunities for walks and hikes. This loop, with its varied landscapes, can be enjoyed as a quiet and relaxing stroll, or, on the contrary, covered at a brisk pace using the techniques of power walking or Nordic walking. I opted for the latter, for a workout circuit lasting about an hour and a half.
