The banks of the Ciron, there and back from Villandraut

Park at Place de la Mairie: free parking.

(S/E) Walk to the far end of the car park with your back to the town hall, towards Villandraut Castle.

(1) At the end of the car park, turn right onto Rue Robert Boulin to reach a small shopping square with a roundabout.

(2) Cross the roundabout and take the road opposite, towards Bazas or Noaillan. Continue to the Ciron, preferably staying on the left-hand side of the road, and cross the bridge.

(3) Immediately turn left onto the GR®6 trail (red and white markings), marked by a small staircase leading down to the riverbank. Follow the river for about 1 km until you come to a ditch where the passage is a little tricky.

(4) You can easily get around this difficulty by temporarily leaving the GR® and taking the path on the right that runs alongside the ditch for a few dozen metres. Then turn left to cross the ditch via a small forest bridge and immediately turn left again to rejoin the banks of the Ciron and the GR®.

(5) Cross the footbridge and enter a large wooded park.

(6) Cross the Route d'Antonion: there are picnic tables in the wooded park. Continue along the path opposite, following the Ciron until you reach a white gravel track.

(7) Turn around and take the same route in the opposite direction to return to Villandraut and the Place de la Mairie (S/E).
