Starting point: The Bazadais Tourist Office in Bazas.
(S/E) From the Tourist Office, head towards the cathedral, staying under the arcades.
(1) At the end of the arcades, turn right onto Rue Théophile de Servières, which slopes downwards. At the end of the street, turn right onto the dirt track (Promenade de la Brèche).
(2) At the end of the dirt track, turn left towards the wash house and walk alongside the communal vegetable gardens. At the wash house, turn right towards the Moulin de la Glory. When you reach the mill, turn left and walk alongside the stream until you reach a wooden bridge.
(3) Cross the Beuve and join the road. Take the road on the left. Continue for 50 m and turn right towards the hamlet of Saint-Vivien. Follow the path uphill to a small road after passing two properties and a bamboo grove.
(4) Once you reach the small road, take it to the right for about 200 m.
(5) Take the first left towards the hamlet of Paouat. The small road soon turns into a path through the moorland and then into a forest track. Continue straight on for about 1 km before reaching a tarmac road.
(6) At the end of this road, turn right and follow this new road.
(7) Cross a bridge over the Ruisseau de Guillemot.
(8) At a place called Pèches, carry on straight ahead towards Sauviac (ignore a small road branching off to the right). After a bend to the left and then to the right, you will see Sauviac Church: an ideal spot for a break.
(9) From Sauviac, retrace your steps back to Pèches.
(8) Turn left onto the small road you passed on your way there.
This road climbs slightly at first, passes through Mouzès, turns right, goes under a power line and then turns left. Pass through Lardon and ride alongside landscapes of moorland and vineyards.
(5) After about 3 km, you’ll arrive back at the hamlet of Paouat. Then turn left towards the hamlets of Caussit and La Bouchère.
(10) At the end of the street, turn right. You will arrive at the foot of the ramparts of Bazas and soon reach the Place de la Cathédrale (S/E).
