Park in the large, clean and spacious car park near Lac de Prades, accessed via the D9.
(S/E) Walk along the lake’s banks.
(1) Turn left to reach an educational observatory. Turn back.
(1) Resume the route.
(2) Turn left through a somewhat marshy area. Use the small wooden footbridges to keep your feet dry and follow the newly repaired fence (the signs to follow are black on aluminium posts). Pass the Bagnères house.
(3) Continue to the left, then veer left again to reach the lake’s banks.
(4) Head up to the right into the firebreak (a largely open area).
(5) Turn right and follow the path across the fields to reach a small tarmac country road at a place called Bacquerisse.
(6) Turn right and continue to Pinay.
(7) Turn left. At the junction, take the road on the left: be careful, there are dogs that may jump the fence. Stay on the road for a while and pass La Barthe and Majourie.
(8) Turn left: be careful, very narrow passage. Follow the fences and stick to the main path without straying too far from it as the ground is marshy. There are a few short ascents and descents that may be slippery before reaching the starting point (S/E).
