Tarascon walks

Cycle from Beaucaire to Arles across the Beaucaire plain on the ViaRhôna (right bank of the Rhône), cross the Petit Rhône at Fourques, pass through the historic centre of Arles, then return to Beaucaire across the Tarascon plain on the left bank of the Rhône.

An easy walk in pleasant surroundings, allowing you to discover the Saint-Gabriel Chapel and the ruins of an ancient castle (Ernaginum site) on land once used by the Romans.

From the beautiful medieval village of Boulbon, you can reach the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Frigolet, dear to Père Gaucher, inventor of his famous liqueur, via the Montagnette. On the way back, you will pass the cross and the Romanesque chapel of Saint-Julien. The Provençal writer Alphonse Daudet (1840-1897) spent some time in Fontvieille, where he drew inspiration from the landscapes to write Lettres de mon moulin (Letters from My Mill). This short family route takes you to four mills that are part of Provençal heritage and passes by the Château de Montauban, where Daudet was a guest.

Discover Fontvieille, famous for its Daudet mill, but also for the Roman ruins that dot the commune.

A picturesque walk that allows you to discover two villages (Montfrin and Théziers) as well as the largest bee wall in France.

Climb up into the heath in search of the remains of a Gallo-Roman aqueduct. Visit the windmills of Fontvieille. Discover the ruins of the imposing Roman water mill at Barbegal and the aqueduct crossing the Vallon des Arcs.
