From Nasbinals to Quatre Chemins
This is the third stage of a four-stage circuit in Aubrac. You will follow most of the GR®65 (Chemin de Compostelle) in the opposite direction. A slight detour from the GR®65 is recommended so that you can admire the Cascade du Déroc waterfall.
Nasbinals - Aumont-Aubrac
This last stage of the Tour de l'Aubrac, shared with theGR®®65Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle à l'envers, once again showcases the vast wilderness of the Aubrac plateau. In the last third of the stage, which is a little more shaded, you can admire the imposing granite bell tower of the Church of La Chaze-de-Peyre and the Chapel of La Bastide.
Nasbinals - Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac
Twenty-first stage of the Way of St James. For this short, downhill stage, you leave the Aubrac plateau to reach Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac, nestled in the heart of the valley carved out by the Boralde, halfway between the Aubrac plateau and the Lot valley.
Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac – Espalion
The twenty-second stage of the Way of St James. On this stage, which is all downhill, you leave the Aubrac plateau to reach the Aveyron region, on the banks of the Lot, passing through the village of Saint-Côme-d’Olt, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, which has managed to preserve its character over the centuries. You arrive in the town of Espalion, which has grown up on the banks of the Lot, and you will notice on the hillsides the old terraces once planted with vines and fruit trees.
Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac – Nasbinals
This fourth stage follows theGR® 65 Way of St James in reverse; it is one of the most beautiful stages of the route, listed in its entirety as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a steady, shaded climb, the path crosses the Aubrac plateaus, passing through the exceptional site of Aubrac.
Prinsuéjols - Buron des Rajas
This second, long stage, which is partly shaded, ends at Buron des Rajas, at the foot of Signal de Mailhebiau, the highest point in Aveyron, in a vast, wild desert landscape.
From the Refuge des Rajas to Nasbinals
Second stage of a four-day tour through the Aubrac countryside, between the Refuge des Rajas and Nasbinals via Aubrac.
On this stage, you will mainly use the GRP® Tour des Monts d'Aubrac and part of the Way of St James in the opposite direction (GR®65).
Buron des Rajas - Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac
This third stage of the Tour des Monts d'Aubrac is one of the most varied. It contrasts the crossing of the wild, desert-like expanses of the Monts d'Aubrac in the first half with the coolness of the Aubrac National Forest and the Tourbières Nature Reserve in the second half. From the Buron des Rajas, isolated at an altitude of 1,300 metres, the stage ends in the small village of Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac, at the bottom of the Boralde de Saint-Chély valley, 500 metres lower down.
