Description of the walk

Departure from the Relais de Prinsuéjols, at the intersection of the D73 and the Route de la Combe.

Part of theGRP®® Tour des Monts d'Aubrac, yellow/red markings

(S) Take the D73 south-east until you reach a crossroads after 1.8 km.

(1) Turn right and walk 500 m to the small village of Trémouloux. Continue straight ahead and cross the village heading south. The road becomes a track at a fork in the road by the last houses.

(2) Take the path on the right, still heading south. After 150 m, continue straight ahead while the main path turns right and head for the Étang de la Baume at a fork.

(3) Turn left, walk along the lake heading east and reach a small road; continue eastwards, walk past the Château de la Baume and reach the D73.

(4) Turn right and continue on the D73.

(5) Cross the Crueize. About 250 m after the sign for Hameau de Masseloup on the left, before the climb, leave the road and take a path on the left, then after another 250 m, turn right to return to the D73 road (this route avoids the climb and is more pleasant). About 100 m after rejoining the D73, you will come to the start of a path on the right.

(6) Turn right and follow the path to the hamlet of Le Gilbertès. At the junction with the D11, take the latter to the left towards the east and, after about 1 km, you will come to a junction with several paths (there is a cross a few metres to the right).

(7) Leave the D11 and take the path on the right. Well shaded in the woods, the path goes around Bouos de Las Mogaus and then Dévèze Grande to reach, further south, the hamlet of Chantegrenouille after 2.5 km (cross).

(8) Turn left and follow the small road south-west to the bridge over the Cheyla stream. Take the path on the left just after the bridge and, after about 200 m, cross the D900 to take the small road opposite leading to Saint-Laurent-de-Muret. Turn left at the entrance to the village of Saint-Laurent-de-Muret. Walk past the cemetery, then the town hall and the church. When you reach a road, turn right, then left after 70 m (there is a drinking trough in front of a large building). About 150 m further on, opposite a cross, there is a path on the left.

(9) Turn left. Continue along this path, heading south-west, ignoring any paths on the right or left.

(10) Cross the Piou. Arrive at the hamlet of La Blatte, then after another 250 m, at the old bridge over the Biourière.

(11) Continue along the path, gradually climbing towards the south-east, then, after about 1 km, towards the south-west, going around Bouos del Mas. As the path becomes flatter, look out for a steep, stony path on the left.

(12) Take this path to the left, heading due south, soon skirting a field on your right and the woods on your left. After about 1 km, you will reach a track.

(13) Turn right, heading north-west, and continue along the track for about 2 km until you reach a wide track.

(14) Turn right and reach the D52 at Bonnecombe (Auberge le Relais des Lacs).

(15) Turn right towards the west and, after 300 m, take the track on the left leading to Buron des Rajas (E), today's stop.
