From the Refuge des Rajas to Nasbinals

(S) Take the GR®60 on the right as you leave the refuge (the path that goes uphill). You will begin a crossing of the Aubrac pastures.

(1) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead across the pastures, following the GR® 60 and 670 and the GRP®.

(2) At the T-junction, follow the hard-packed track to the right.

(3) After about 200 m, you will come to a small road. Follow it to the right for about 3.5 km.

(4) At a right-hand bend, take a path on your left (old Roman road) with the GR®6 and GRP® signs. After about 700 m, enter the forest.

(5) At the T-junction, turn right. Carefully join the D219 and follow it to the left for about 100 metres.

(6) Leave the road and take the first path on the right (old Roman road). Go around the Roc de Campuels on the right.

(7) At an intersection, keep right. Cross the forest, keeping west-northwest and going straight at each intersection.

(8) At the intersection of old Roman roads, take the path on the right towards the village of Aubrac. At a fork, take the path on the right.

(9) At the intersection that appears shortly after, turn left onto the GR®6 and descend.

(10) Cross a stream, turn left immediately and go uphill.

(11) At a fork, bear right. You will come out onto a small road; follow it to the right and enter the village of Aubrac.

(12) Take the first right onto the GR®65 and go around the village on the right. At the crossroads, go straight ahead. Walk north parallel to the D987.

(13) Join the D987 and first turn right then left to cross it carefully, then take the path opposite through the pastures. Soon head north-east and go around a wood on the right. Then head north-west and you will come to a fork.

(14) Take the path on the right, which soon turns right and then left. Walk along a small wood on your right. Continue through the pastures towards the east, then north and finally east again.

(15) You will come out onto the access road to Pascalet and follow it to the left. Cross a stream.

(16) Immediately after, when the road turns right, continue straight ahead on a path with the GR®65. At the next crossroads (elevations 1235 then 1217), continue in the same direction, east-northeast.

(17) Shortly before reaching the tarmac, turn left, still following the GR®65. Further on, turn right and cross the hamlet of Le Coustat.

(18) Return to the D987 and follow it to the left. Continue straight ahead and enter Nasbinals. Continue to the Place de l'Église (Romanesque church below on the right) (S/E).

You can shorten the route by cutting across (4) via the GR®670 and (13) via the GR®65 variant.
