The route starts from the church in Nasbinals (car park available to the south of the church, opposite the entrance).
(S/E) Head west and follow Rue de la Placette to Rue Principale (D987).
(1) Follow the D987 to the left towards Aubrac. As you leave Nasbinals, the road climbs slightly for a few kilometres before becoming gently undulating and easy to ride.
(2) Pass the D219 on your left and stay on the D987, which begins to descend. Note the fortified church in the village of Aubrac on your left.
(3) When you reach the former “Le Royal” sanatorium, at a left-hand bend, turn right onto the D15 towards Laguiole.
(4) Pass the Croix des Trois Évêques and continue towards Laguiole, staying on the D15.
(5) Ignore the D13 on your right, which heads towards Saint-Urcize, and then, a little further on, the D164 on your left.
(6) Pass the D125 on your right, then begin a long, pleasant descent to Laguiole and the roundabout with the D921.
(7) Turn right onto the D921 and ride along the left-hand side of the Place du Foirail, where a statue of an Aubrac bull stands. Stay on the D921, which bends right towards Saint-Flour, and ride down a short descent.
(8) Cross the Selves, ignore the D900 on the left and head steeply uphill on the D921. Stay on this main road for about 12 km until you reach the entrance to Lacalm.
(9) Just before reaching Lacalm, ignore the D34 which branches off to your left towards Alpuech.
(10) Just as you enter Lacalm, take the D165 on your right (hairpin bend) towards La Trinitat. Follow the D165 to the village of La Trinitat.
(11) Just before La Trinitat, as you enter the department of Cantal, the D165 becomes the D565.
(12) Drive through the village of La Trinitat, staying on the D565. Pass the hamlet of Les Escoudournats on your left and turn right.
(13) Shortly afterwards, pass the D65 on your left.
(14) A few hundred metres further on, take a sharp left-hand bend, still following the D565. Follow this road to the church at Réquistat (in the village, pass the small road to Pennaveyre on your right).
(15) Stay on the main road, the D565, which soon bends right then left. Carry on straight ahead until you reach a junction near the hamlet of l’Oustassouet.
(16) Pass a small road on your right (towards Longevialle) and begin a long descent along the D565 to reach Saint-Rémy-de-Chaudes-Aigues.
(17) Continue on the D565 and you’ll soon reach the D13.
(18) Follow the D13 to the left for about 600 m.
(19) Turn right onto the D613 towards La Chaldette. Ignore a small road on the left, then one on the right, and continue downhill.
(20) Cross the River Bès. Join the D12 coming from the left and cross La Chaldette. Turn right onto the D12, then follow the River Bès until you reach a small crossroads with a wayside cross, just after a small bridge.
(21) At the wayside cross, turn left onto the D73 towards Brion. The road climbs steeply.
(22) At the junction, go straight on and continue climbing up to the plateau where the view opens out. Reach the small village of Brion and its church.
(23) Turn slightly left and stay on the D73, ignoring the turn-offs to the left.
(24) Pass the hamlet of Les Levades on your left and carry on along the D73 (lovely view of the plateau).
(25) At the crossroads (way of the cross), carry straight on along the D73 to Malbouzon.
(26) Follow the D987 to the right for about 1 km.
(27) At the wayside cross, turn left towards Rieutort d’Aubrac and Marchastel. Carry on straight ahead to Rieutort.
(28) Turn right in the village and follow theGR®65to the D900.
(29) Follow the D900 to the right and cross the River Bès via the Marchastel Bridge. Follow the D900 to Montgrousset.
(30) Pass the D52 on your left, continue along the D900 and enter Nasbinals.
(31) At the junction with the D987, turn left. Head towards Nasbinals Church (S/E).
