Ravières walks

Fairly simple walk, mainly on gravel paths. The third kilometre climbs reasonably, but it is in the forest in the shade. On the plateau the path undulates between the fields. After the Chapelle Sainte-Anne, you leave the plateau via a reasonably steep little asphalt road to reach Ravières again.

A pleasant and easy circular route along the paths, with sections through the forest and undergrowth.

Two châteaux are on the itinerary. The first is Noyers Castle, which you’ll see after just a few steps! The second is Jouancy Castle, with its superb roof. Make the most of your visit to take a stroll through this medieval town, which served as the setting for a very famous Walt Disney film!

The Chemins d'Auxois Association offers you its first circuit created using paths that have been reopened by the association. This beautiful walk has been designed to make the most of the footpaths, dirt tracks and white roads that will allow you to walk far away from cars. Come and discover trails you've never walked before! Our tours are unique and do not follow existing signposts. They are also suitable for mountain bikes and horses.

Starting from L’Isle-sur-Serein, this route takes you past eight historic wash houses, each one different, a windmill and some very old houses in the villages you pass through. There are no particular difficulties on this route apart from its length; however, you can split this walk into two sections starting from L’Isle-sur-Serein.Please note that there are no specific signposts for this route, except in a few places where this is indicated.

The walk starts in the small village of Molesme, situated in the north of the Côte-d’Or, in the valley of the Laigne – a tributary of the Seine – in a region straddling Burgundy and Champagne. Life in this village was strongly influenced by the monastic life of the abbey, which over the centuries experienced the consequences of the Hundred Years’ War, the Wars of Religion and the Revolution… The abbey is open to the public during the summer months by appointment. A leisurely walk allows you to explore and visit the ruins of the Oppidum of Vertillum, which was a major city in Roman times.

Come and discover this historic heritage: a windmill, five very different wash houses, old houses and other architectural curiosities. An easy walk, apart from one difficult section – in wet weather – 1 km from the start. Please note: there are no signposts on this route.

This hike can be combined with a sound and light show organised by the "Montréal en lumière" association. It can be reached on foot via the Fontenay-Vézelay path. By car, take the N6 and D957. From the A6 motorway, take the Avallon exit. Montréal is 7km from the exit.

This circular route allows you to reach Coussegrey via the paths from Prusy. This route is fairly simple with a few climbs and stony paths. It is an easy route, but wear good, comfortable shoes to enjoy these beautiful trails.

The route is fairly simple and allows you to walk along the paths around Prusy. It is mainly paths, but there are also a few sections on the road (essential for getting to the church). When you arrive at Saint-Edme Church, you can enjoy a pleasant view of the fields.

This trail leads around the Lac de Pont artificial reservoir. This dam was built in 1882 and brought up to standard at the end of 2018. Car park, camping, restaurant, beach and leisure facilities are all available. A footbridge and staircase provide access to the dam and the right bank path. Other modifications underway following the 2018 drought. This October 11, 2018: diving board and beach have been demolished and will be rebuilt. A floating footbridge is planned to serve the activity zones.

The Riceys vineyards cover the largest area of any in the whole of Champagne. They boast three appellations d’origine contrôlée. Located in the Côte des Bars, the vineyards are easily accessible to walkers, with access often made easier by roads maintained for vineyard operations.

This circular walk takes us into the vineyard area of Les Riceys and Balnot-sur-Laignes. Leaving the vineyards behind, the return journey follows the course of the Laignes river and takes the route of the old "tacot" railway line which, from 1901, linked Les Riceys-Polisot to Cunfin.

Discover the village of Cussangy, situated near Chaource. The ‘Petits Gués’ trail offers a walk centred around the theme of water.

This route has been redeveloped and made safer. It allows you to bypass the Douix river and walk through a pleasant boxwood forest before reaching the village of Darcey and then the cave. It is not listed on IGN maps, which is why I used the Visorando app to track my route and highlight it.

From the village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, a magnificent medieval village, head for a picnic at the Château de Bussy-Rabutin, which you will enjoy visiting. Then return via Alise-Sainte-Reine, a key site of the Gallic Wars, and pay a visit to Vercingétorix.

A circular route starting from the medieval town of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, allowing you to explore, in part, the valleys of the Ozerain and the Oze and discover some of the restored historic buildings there. Make sure to set aside some time to wander around Flavigny and soak up its rich and varied cultural heritage.

A short walk across the plain and through the fields between Avallon and Annay-la-Côte. This route has very few inclines, with just one notable one right at the very end. It mainly follows paths through the fields and takes an old Roman road that is no longer used by vehicles. The starting point offers a magnificent view over the whole plain, with the small town of Avallon in the background.

This route leads to a local landmark, Le Gros Chêne, where a sign recounts the history of this three-hundred-year-old oak tree, which is no longer there, but where an oak tree from the year 2000 was planted by the village schoolchildren in 2002 to mark the turn of the century and to remember our venerable ancestor.

Discover the cadoles of Courteron, as well as the magnificent vineyard landscape from the ridge path.

The shaded forest atmosphere typical of the humid Champagne region can be enjoyed along this entire route, which is accessible on foot or by mountain bike. This route is strongly discouraged during the forest hunting season, from October to March, on Sundays and Wednesdays.

This relaxing route, which is entirely shaded except between points (6) and (7) (approx. 600 m), offers a pleasant way to follow the course of the river and discover a fly-fishing route.

The title of the hike refers to the two main attractions: the Cousin valley and the old town of Avallon. The rest of the walk takes you along pleasant forest and country paths, offering different views of these two highlights of local tourism.

This “challenging” round-trip hike follows the River Cousin as closely as possible between Avallon and Pontaubert. Various signs along the route provide information on the work carried out to restore and maintain the habitat necessary for fish reproduction.

This walk is almost entirely through forest on the outskirts of Avallon, with a few sections on the road. The first part is mainly in forest, while the second part is more open, bordering meadows and pastures.
