Keen to explore the archaeological sites around Lac de la Maix and its surroundings, we followed the trails marked by the Club Vosgien. On the way back after La Haute-Côte, we came across a few sections that reminded us a little of the legendary Roches or Hirschsteine trails between La Schlucht and the Hohneck; namely, very rocky paths featuring quite challenging sections interspersed with numerous springs.
