Park in a small car park along Rue des Déportés, near a second-hand clothes bin. On the D392, coming from Luvigny, this street is thefirst on the left after the town hall and the church in Raon-sur-Plaine. Once on this street, at the fork immediately ahead, turn left and you will find the car park straight away on the left-hand side.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, follow the street to the left. Cross a river, ignore the road branching off to the right towards Raon-lès-Leau and continue straight ahead for a few metres. Then turn right to walk alongside a house on your right (it feels as though you are entering private property, but this is indeed a public path). Then walk alongside a garden fence on your left. Head up the path which turns right and becomes obstructed (there are a few fallen trees to go round). Continue uphill until you reach a junction with a wider path.
(1) Follow the path to the left (west) and walk along a slight incline.
(2) After about 500 m, turn right. Climb a steep path and keep heading north-west at each junction with a wider path. After a bend to the right, pass close to a spring. Take a hairpin bend to the left and climb further to quickly reach the Col de la Charaille (hut).
Markings: Blue Cross + Red Ring
(3) Turn right (north-north-east) onto the Route Forestière de la Sainte-Vierge. After about 150 m, take a path on the right towards Roule Bacon. Stay on the main path and ignore a few side tracks.
(4) At a signposted junction, turn right towards the Pierres du Sabbat. Explore the site and retrace your steps.
(4) Continue along the main path north-eastwards on level ground to the Col de Roule Bacon (hut).

(5) Turn right onto the Route Forestière de Roule Bacon and descend steadily.

(6) At the crossroads, take thefirst road on the right. Ignore a turn-off on the left and continue to a junction (sign for the “Botanical Trail”).

(7) Then turn right and head back up a wide forest track.

(8) After about 1.2 km, turn left and head straight down south. The path then turns south-west.
(9) Take a path on the left towards Raon-lès-Leau and continue downhill.
(10) You will come out onto Rue de la Mairie; follow it to the right. Ignore the road on the left leading to the church and walk past the town hall. Then take thesecond road on the right, Rue des Poiriers. At the junction, turn right and you will immediately come back to the car park where you started (S/E).
