Neufmaisons walks

A lovely walk from the 13th-century Saint-Jean Chapel to the low-altitude peat bogs.

This hike will take you through the Reclos forest with the Rocher des Vannes, Rocher Cuny, Rocher des Arcades and Roche de Cherpierre.

With its dam, the rocks of the Xaveure, some of which are shaped like animals, its Château de Salm and the little village that bears its name, the Lac de Pierre-Percée offers landscapes with a Canadian flavour.

Discover the man-made lake that feeds the cooling system at Cattenom nuclear power station and the First World War battle sites around Celles-sur-Plaine.

You will encounter spectacular rocks on the Meurthe-et-Moselle side of the plain and discover the beautiful Forêt du Reclos as you walk along the well-marked trails of the Club Vosgien. Park in the hiking car park at the exit of the hamlet of La Trouche in the direction of Celles-sur-Plaine.

A very pretty circular route around the village of Pierre-Percée. It will take you from the shores of the lake to the Château de Salm, passing through the rocky outcrops of Marie Fontaine, La Xaveure and the Sentier des Roches. You will come across a few remnants of the First World War not far from the Col de la Chapelotte and several viewpoints, including the Roche de la Soye, on a more winding and technical section, with a less rugged return via the Musée de La Ménelle and theGR® 533.

This is a lovely walk that winds along the shores of Lake Pierre-Percée and leads you to the surprising Roches de la Xaveure and Marie Fontaine rock formations. As a bonus, you will pass through the charming little village of Pierre-Percée and, when it is possible again, visit the ruins of Salm Castle and its magnificent view of the lake.

The Vallée de la Plaine or "Belle Vallée" (Beautiful Valley) boasts two lakes, a paradise for hikers and sports enthusiasts, where water, nature and forest are intimately linked.

A lovely, easy circular walk that takes you successively to the Roches de la Xaveure, the rugged shores of Lac de Pierre Percée and the Roche des Corbeaux with its beautiful viewpoint. The return journey follows part of the same route to Les Roches Bataillons, ending at the starting point at Les Trois Sapins.

Short walk with a steep climb at the start and a beautiful view from the Roche de Saint-Blaise. The finish isn't great, as it's in a housing estate, but I must admit I did this walk with my young dog Marcus to prepare him for future hikes with me.

From the Col de la Vierge Clarisse, where you leave your vehicle, you will hike between the weathered rocks and then follow a steep path that will take you to La Menelle before climbing back up to the village of Pierre Percée and finally following the peaceful banks of its lake.

A very pleasant, shaded circular route on charming forest paths. After an easy climb, almost the entire route is on the summit plateau. You will walk from rock to rock: Joli Bois, Faucompierre, Corbeaux, Coucou, Renard, passing by Tête de Répy, with beautiful views at each one.

A circular hike starting from Celles-sur-Plaine, climbing up into the forest towards the three German observatories from the First World War. La Pierre Piquée, then the Pain de Sucre, passing by the Vierge de Dialtrepoix, and ending at the highest point, the Tête du Coquin, passing by the Coquin and Riangoutte fountains. The walk is partly signposted by Tourisme de Mémoire signs.La Pierre Piquée, with its parapets and blockhouses, just outside the site, Le Pain de Sucre with its ramparts and a beautiful view from the top of Le Coquin.

A beautiful short hike on mostly single-track trails in the forest. Beautiful views.

The route winds through the shade of the Côte de Répy massif. Pass by the Pierre d'Appel promontory to enjoy a sweeping view of Étival-Clairefontaine, then head towards the Tête de Répy with its observatory overlooking Raon l'Étape. The route is dotted with numerous rocks, often with a bench where you can sit and enjoy the varied panoramic views.
