Nanteuil-en-Vallée walks

A very relaxing walk along an old railway platform, returning via a mule track. The small 12th-century church in Saint-Gervais is exceptionally well preserved.

A beautiful walk in the Bois de la Bachellerie. These areas are relatively far from any houses and are home to a fairly large amount of wildlife. You can walk at a leisurely pace, as some parts of the trails are well cleared.

If you want to walk in a place away from prying eyes and crowds, this walk is for you. Enjoy the green paths and undergrowth as you stroll in peace. You will alternate between shaded and sunny sections.

This circuit will take you through wooded and open areas, along dirt and stone paths, and along an old Roman road. Near this road, on 19 June 1944, an American Boeing B17-G bomber crashed at a place called Fond Péron. To commemorate this event, a memorial stone has been erected at the edge of the Roman road. From this stone, signs point to the actual crash site, about 500 metres away to the north, where a small memorial, restored in 2024, awaits your visit in complete tranquillity.

You will be able to walk in complete tranquillity on most of this route, which takes you off the beaten track.If you enjoy relaxed walking, this hike is for you.

Twenty kilometres north of Angoulême, Jauldes has preserved its beautiful rural heritage. Between fields and forests, take the time to linger in its charming villages with their old buildings made of small, typical limestone blocks.

This trail refers to the water mill built in the Middle Ages on the banks of the Vienne. You will follow the Vienne for much of the route. This gives you plenty of time to fully appreciate this river! If you see tourists in canoes or kayaks, don't be surprised! The Vienne is used for water sports.

Located 20 km north of Angoulême, Jauldes has successfully preserved a vibrant rural heritage, which you can discover on this short walk around Cherves.

This hike will take you around Lake Mas Chaban and offer beautiful views of Lake Chaban and a passage through the small village of Lésignac-Durand, where there is a church worth seeing. The difficulty lies mainly in the length of the walk. In very wet weather, the path can be very muddy or even impassable. The route can also be done in the opposite direction. Please note that the view is not clear between Valette and the starting/finishing point.

Follow the Voie Verte, the former P'tit Rouillat railway line. Walk through vineyards, small woods and farmland before reaching the Nouère in the charming village of Gouthiers.
