Starting from the quays of Castillon-la-Bataille, this alternative route takes you to the hillsides of Castillonnais, offering breathtaking views of the Dordogne valley. Explore the valleys and admire the panorama.

Take this route on your mountain bike through the vineyards, which will lead you from the quays of Castillon-la-Bataille to Blasimon and its abbey. Finish this route at the Blasimon leisure centre.

Follow and admire the Dordogne from both banks as you pass through the villages and hamlets that surround it.

As you walk along this route, keep your eyes open! Around a bend in the path or beyond a fence, you will discover traces of the past: wells, dovecotes and mills. You may also meet winegrowers who will tell you about their passion and offer you a taste of their wines.

A bucolic, hilly hike with beautiful views. It starts with a steep climb, but once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Dordogne valley and Castillon-la-Bataille. The route takes you through vineyards, woods and meadows, with little tarmac. It ends with another steep climb, but less steep than the one at the start.

The commune, through which the Ruisseau du Courbut flows, is made up of two plateaux that slope down towards the Dordogne. You can enjoy a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere, surrounded by the magnificent surrounding countryside of vineyards and forests.

From the old Saint-Laurent-des-Combes railway station, at a place called Barbeyron, you will climb back up towards Saint-Émilion with exceptional views of the medieval town. After skirting the town, this hike will take you through the heart of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru vineyards.
