Description of the walk

Departure from Doulezon at the church and cemetery car park.

(S/E) From the car park, head towards the central crossroads in Doulezon (the three routes are marked with green, red and yellow arrows painted by our cheerful Doulezon residents), turn left onto Rue Le Bourg Sud, then immediately right down the hill towards Micouleau and Le Touron. Ignore the two paths on the right and continue downhill.
Pass a family tomb, then an old wash house. Continue along the shaded road beside the Touron spring, where the climate seems tropical. Go to the crossroads at the bottom of the descent.

at the intersection, take the road on the left, passing in front of the Escouach watermill. At the next crossroads, continue straight on along the road, which further on makes a sharp left turn to arrive at Le Souquet and its ruined house.

(2) At the crossroads, head north and, 200 metres further on, turn right towards Caillouade. Leave the house on your right and continue through the vineyards to reach the path leading to the hamlet of Rieux and then the D21.

(3) Continue straight ahead, along the vineyards, then along the woods. Join the road and turn right at the dead oak tree until you reach the crossroads.

(4) Turn left following the yellow arrow, follow the vineyard path and descend on the left, heading west-northwest towards Langragnat. Cross this hamlet and continue to the next intersection.

(5) Turn right, heading north-west towards Doulezon, cross the Descot stream to reach the recently restored Chotelle wash house. At the next intersection, turn right towards Descot. Note some pretty houses before arriving behind the church of Doulezon. (S/E)

my friends and I did the three circuits separately, then we came back and did the yellow, green and red ones together. A VERY pleasant parish-specific to Brittany route, well signposted

a short, easy and pleasant walk around Doulezon and its pretty church. There is a large square with space for several vehicles. The roads are very quiet except for the last section, but this is essential if you want to visit the wash house. The paths are passable even after two months of rain. Note the excellent and amusing signage in place, which means you can leave your mobile phone in your pocket. There is just one "error" between the GPS and the signage at point 4. You must follow the signage that goes around the house.
Many thanks to the town hall and the hiking association for creating this route, its excellent signposting and maintenance. I will be back soon to do the red and blue routes
