(S/E) The walk starts from Castillon la Bataille railway station. Turn your back on the station and walk down Avenue Gambetta. Take the first street on the right and go through the tunnel under the railway line.
At the end of the tunnel, turn right and follow Rue Montesquieu, which runs alongside the railway line. When you reach the cemetery, continue along the road opposite.
(1) Take the second path on the left (after the cemetery) between the vineyards. When you reach the top, enter the woods and take the path on the right. At the end, turn left and then right.
Then turn left to climb up to the hamlet of Horable.
(2) Turn right onto the tarmac road and cross the hamlet. At the end of the hamlet, you will have a beautiful view of the Château de Castagens. Follow the road.
(3) At the crossroads, turn left towards the hamlet of La Brande. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead. Pass the entrance to the house at La Brande and go straight up into the woods.
At the end of this path, continue straight ahead until you reach the tarmac road, which you should follow.
(4) Just after the stop sign, leave the road and turn left onto the path to reach the village of Belvès-de-Castillon.
(5) In the village, turn left towards Castillon-la-Bataille, then turn right between the church and the "Claud Bellevue" and follow the tarmac road. After about 300 metres, take the path on the left.
(6) At the end of this path, turn left onto the tarmac road, then at the junction, turn right and follow the road to the hamlet of "Lucas". At the junction, take the road on the left.
(7) At the bend, take the path on the right that runs alongside the houses and then passes between the vineyards. At the tarmac road, turn right.
(8) Turn left onto the path (go around the barrier) which descends towards Castillon-la-Bataille. Cross the Belvès road (D119) and continue opposite on the grassy path between the houses to reach the station.
(9) Cross the tarmac road, turn right under the railway line and return to the station by turning left onto Avenue Gambetta.
