Access via Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe then Le Planay to park in the car park in the hamlet of Plan Désert.
(S/E) Go around the small lake on the left, then follow the Téléski du Plan Désert along the carriage road until you reach a fork at an altitude of 1,720 metres.
(1) Turn left at the "Lac du Guï" sign: the 50-metre detour to the right to see it is not worth it, as it is just a small pond. Pass under the ski lift to arrive immediately at an intersection.
(2) Continue to the right, negotiating the bend.
(3) Pass the "Cœur du Diamant" mountain restaurant on your right and walk along the ridge where you will find several chairlift arrival stations, Crête de Douce.
(4) Continue straight ahead to reach Crête du Vorès.
(5) Continue straight ahead until you reach the foot of Mont de Vorès at an altitude of 2,002 metres.
(6) Ignore the sign for "Ban Rouge" on your left for now and continue climbing the ridge to Mont de Vorès, at an altitude of 2,067 metres.
(7) Continue right, north-east, towards the easily identifiable secondary summits. You will reach a crossroads at an elevation of 2039 metres.
(8) Continue straight ahead along the ridge and you will reach another intersection at an elevation of 2,066 metres.
(9) Descend to the left and reach the Col de Vorès.
(10) Climb up the north slope opposite, where you can see a chalet at the very top at an altitude of 2,039 metres. The view is well worth the detour and the 40-metre climb.
(11) Descend back to the Col de Vorès.
(10) Turn right, heading north-west towards the start of the Trois Coins ski lift.
(12) Head back up, due west, towards the Col de Basse Combe to reach the ridge line at an altitude of 1,887 metres.
(13) Head right towards Ban Rouge, easily identifiable by its chairlift arrival station.
(14) Ignore the path that descends to the left for now and continue your ascent to Ban Rouge.
(15) Retrace your steps briefly to the fork you passed earlier.
(14) This time, take the winding path on the right that descends towards Plan Désert and join the locality known as Sous le Tré.
(16) Take the path on the left, which turns into a carriageway. Continue until you reach an intersection before the Bouza farm.
(17) Turn right before the farm. Follow the signs for "Plan Désert" and you will reach another fork at an elevation of 1622 metres.
(18) Continue straight ahead and follow the signs for "Plan Désert" until you reach the Plan Désert car park (S/E).
