Mazières-de-Touraine walks

Mazières is a village located north of Cinq-Mars, 30 minutes from Tours. The village centre has retained the charm of the villages of the Touraine region, where life was once devoted to agriculture and forestry. The route passes through the woods of the large neighbouring estates. There are views of the vast rural landscapes. The most charming section is undoubtedly the Breuil valley. A pleasant hike that is never monotonous.

From Cinq-Mars-la-Pile to Mazière-de-Touraine, follow a beautiful stream, the Breuil, which flows through beautiful meadows and feeds numerous ponds.

Starting from Parc des Grillets, this pleasant hike across the plateau takes us through fields and forests to the island pond (Mazières). There is a beautiful viewpoint and on the way back, we will take the mill road through the Breuil valley before returning to the plateau and our starting point. A beautiful circular route to discover the habitat and nature around Villandry, through the highlands and along the banks of the Cher, with the option of visiting the confluence of the Cher and the Loire and, if you have time, the gardens and the château. The village was called Colombiers in the Middle Ages: the name of its inhabitants remains as a reminder!

This short walk, accessible to all, allows you to discover the variety of landscapes surrounding the charming village of Villandry. You will pass some very pretty old houses, go around the château and its gardens, take some pretty paths lined with hedges and then pass through a small wood before ending your walk along the Cher river. All this in just under an hour!

Set off on a surprising audio walk, devised by the association "L'Autre Terre Libérée", to discover Luynes through an original story. Discover the town and its surroundings through the unusual story of Louis Rimbault, who founded his "Terre Libérée" school of vegan practices in 1923. Take a stroll through the town, listening to eight sound bubbles that tell you this unusual story!

Walk through fields and forests around Saint-Roch. This walk largely follows Saint-Roch footpath no. 1. The alternative route is between point (3) and point (7).

On the outskirts of Miré, this very pleasant, peaceful and easy route runs alongside woods and fields.

In Azay-le-Rideau, if you don't have time to visit the château, the château grounds are open to the public between 5pm and 6pm. While waiting for this "happy hour", I suggest you take a stroll to discover this pretty little village.

A route in the Azay le Rideau region, in the Chinon forest and then on the heights of the Indre valley. Don't miss: two beautiful residences and the remarkable oak tree at Cheillé church.

A walk through fields and forests, with a few troglodytes along the way.

Starting from the Manoir de Vonnes, cross plateaus and undergrowth on the right bank of the Indre. A priory, Calder's studio and the hillside above the Indre valley offer beautiful views of Saché.

Isolated in a landscape reshaped by modern man, a wild fountain, an old oak tree, a stone cross, a forgotten castle, a sacred fountain, a wash house, an oratory, mills, all remnants of a bygone era. Before or after your visit to the Château d'Ussé, which is rumoured to have inspired Charles Perrault's 'Sleeping Beauty', I suggest a lovely circular route along the Indre and then the Loire. There is the option of stopping for a bite to eat in Bréhémont. Remarkable views of the château.
