Start from the dirt car park between the cemetery and the village hall in Saint-Étienne-de-Chigny (Pont de Bresme; not to be confused with Vieux Bourg).
(S/E) Take the grassy path to the north of the car park.
(1) When you reach the edge of the forest, you have two options: follow the stream bed if it is dry, as indicated on the map (caution: lots of mosquitoes in summer), or take the path that branches off to the right of the stream and runs alongside it at a higher level. Follow the stream upstream until you reach a small log bridge crossing it (junction of the two suggested paths).
(2) At this point, climb up the bank on the left (wooden steps just after the bridge) and take the forest path that runs alongside a fence.
At the crossroads of the four paths, continue on the path furthest to the right, which continues to run alongside the fence. Continue to the next crossroads.
(3) Turn right again, still following the fence. Just before you reach the main forest path, take the path on the left. This small marked path winds in a circular pattern until it returns to the Parc des Grillets car park.
(4) Turn right once you reach the car park, join the tarmac road (Rue du Perre au Carroi Jaune) and turn right onto it. At the next crossroads, turn left onto Route de l'Arnerie, crossing the hamlet of L'Espérance.
(5) Take the dirt track on the left just opposite the first house in the next hamlet (L'Arnerie). Turn left at the next junction, between the small wood and the fenced-in meadow.
Cross the first tarmac road and continue along the path slightly to the right.
(6) Turn left onto the second tarmac road (Allée de la Croix Cotelette), then right at the next junction (Rue du Perre au Carroi Jaune).
Continue straight ahead at the next junction (no more signposts, slight variation in the route) and turn left at the Théâtre de verdure.
(7) Cross the car park, take the first path on the right towards the two benches and continue either via the steps or the path at the end that turns left (the two paths meet after a few metres). After the junction, continue along the path on the right, which ends up running alongside a garden.
Leave the path and cross the small meadow, continuing along the same garden, to find the white dirt track (return of the markings). Take it to the right, reach the residential area and go up to the left (Avenue des Acacias).
(8) Very quickly, take the first dirt track on the right between two houses and follow the path behind the gardens at the top of the hill. Ignore the first three junctions with the residential area and continue to the end of the path, which turns left and joins Allée des Acacias. Descend to Chemin de la Maurière, turn right in front of the cemetery and return to the car park (S/E).
