Martignas-sur-Jalle walks

A lovely outing, close to the Bordeaux metropolitan area without the drawbacks of the Arcachon Basin.

This hike follows the course of the Jalle. You will cross the Soldat bridge and then walk along a stone path without any difficulty.

An easy circular path through the shaded forest, following two tributaries of the Jalle de Martignas.

An easy 7 km walk, with no significant elevation gain, through the Bourghail forest and the Cap de Bos basin.

Here is a short walk on the edge of the urban area of Pessac, in a tamed but no less pleasant natural setting where you can gain a bit of height thanks to cleverly placed viewing points. A walk you can do with your children, who will find plenty of opportunities to let off steam in a fun way.

Hike along the banks of the Jalle du Tailan and then the Jalle d'Eysines via Majolan Park.

Route starting from the Maison des Sources car park. A varied route, partly along the stream, in open country around the Monsalut estate with its two lakes, then through forest, then between moorland and cultivated fields, finally returning to the forest and the stream for the return to the source.

This route takes you roughly along the small River Peugue from the border between Bordeaux and Mérignac to its source in the Bois de la Princesse in Pessac. It is a well-shaded route, suitable for all seasons except during very hot weather or rainy conditions, and can be completed by mountain bike or hybrid bike (the terrain is either tarmac or clay). It is also possible on foot, but a little tedious in places (Rue des As and Rue Socrate).

In the privileged environment of the Bordeaux suburbs, there are many opportunities for walks and hikes. This loop, with its varied landscapes, can be enjoyed as a quiet and relaxing stroll, or, on the contrary, covered at a brisk pace using the techniques of power walking or Nordic walking. I opted for the latter, for a workout circuit lasting about an hour and a half.

Having a river near your home is always a blessing. Our Eau Bourde is modest but full of charm, offering around fifteen kilometres of almost continuous walking or cycling along its tranquil course, alone or with the family, whatever the season.

A circular route through the parks in the centre of Gradignan.

Between Cestas and Léognan, there are wide open spaces for beautiful, healthy walks, whatever the season. This is a walk that can be enjoyed with the family at a leisurely pace, but is also perfect for Nordic walking. Between the two lakes, the landscape is constantly changing, as both the vineyards and the forest take on a different appearance depending on the season and how they are used.

A short, gentle walk, neither too long nor too muddy, suitable for walking or mountain biking in all seasons. A stone's throw from Gradignan and Cestas for those who don't know Canéjan, 12km from Bordeaux.

An easy hike through the woods on forest tracks.

A very green circular loop, without concrete or tarmac, in Gradignan, very close to Bordeaux. Suitable in all seasons (paths are not muddy and there is shade). There are benches dotted along the route. There may be mosquitoes near the river (the Eau Bourde).

Start near the small12th-centuryRomanesque church of Saint-Seurin. The route takes you through vineyards and then through the forest and is not difficult.

An easy circular through the forest to reach the old gravel pits. You will pass close to Montbrison Castle.

Discovery hike along the Eau Blanche stream. It rises in Lipomey, south-southeast of Léognan. It winds through the forest before crossing Léognan and heading towards Cadaujac and then Courrejan, where it flows into the Garonne. The hike runs along the left bank of the vineyards of the Châteaux de France, Fieuzal and Le Sartre, Pessac-Léognan grands crus classés. On the way back, it runs along the right bank, crosses Mignoy, and passes near Château Chevaliner, another Pessac-Léognan grand cru classé.

Hike/walk near Léognan starting from Lac Bleu, passing through woods, vineyards, streams, Château de Léognan and Château de France. It was a pleasant discovery. This route is not very busy.

An easy loop through vineyards and forest Just half an hour from Bordeaux, Lac Beu de Léognan is hidden away in the middle of a forest park. It is a place much loved by families and other walkers for its bucolic setting and tranquillity.

A short loop, suitable for all ages, to discover the vineyards and moors of Pessac-Léognan. Very few roads, beautiful views. Easy to follow.

A lovely walk in a little-known area near Bordeaux. You will pass through vineyards, forest paths and narrow streets in the Médoc region, rich in vineyards, forests and châteaux.
