Circular route of La Soulège in Saint-Quentin-de-Caplong
From the village, the route takes you along country lanes through woodland down to a small river, the Soulège. Along the way, you’ll come across various points of interest: a wash house, a stone bridge, windmills and watermills, and more. The rest of the route alternates between vineyards and woodland, with views of the surrounding villages.
The Mills Route in Eynesse
The route is suitable for everyone, from novice walkers to families, thanks to its length and accessibility in all weathers.
This route offers panoramic views of the Dordogne and the hillsides covered in vineyards and woodland. Three mills line the route, demonstrating that the region was not only a wine-growing area but also a long-standing centre for cereal farming. Two windmills, one of which has been partially restored, stand on the heights of Eynesse amidst the vineyards.
Around Soumensac
A beautiful hike starting from the pretty village of Soumensac. From the car park, you will have a magnificent view of the typical Lot-et-Garonne countryside. You will cross the plain, undergrowth and vineyards. The view of the village of Soumensac from above on the way back is a feast for the eyes.
Saint-Avit-de-Soulège circular
You will walk alongside the Soulège, a small 13km stream, and discover the village church, rebuilt in 1866. You can also visit the Moulin de Moustelat, built in 1724 and still in operation.
Also worth seeing is the elm tree planted in 1848, symbolising the freedom won after the Revolution, which is in perfect health. It still resists the disease that has struck other trees of its species.
Tour of Lake Escourou
Near the magnificent Bastide d'Eymet, enjoy a family walk along Lac de l'Escourou, where you can observe the region's flora and fauna. The small lake is equipped for bird watching. Children can answer the short quizzes scattered along the route.
