Park in the village hall car park, near Savignac-de-Duras town hall.
(S/E) Leave the car park, turn left and follow the road through the village, alongside a meadow where a donkey and a pony are usually grazing.
(1) At the end of the meadow, turn left onto the small road leading to the Mauret wash house (signposted).
(2) At the end of the tarmac road, take the path on your right, between the edge of the woods and the vineyards and plum trees.
(3) After a few hundred metres, take a small path that leads into the woods on your left, then comes out onto a forest track. Take this to your left, until you reach the Mauret wash house, which gives its name to the circular loop. You can stop for a break by this pretty waterhole.
Pass close to the previous spot again, then follow a farm track opposite until you reach the tarmac road at Barradis. Continue straight on.
(4) Turn left onto a lane lined with oak trees. At one point, you’ll have a lovely view of the Château des Ducs de Duras on your right.
(5) Turn slightly right onto a grassy path that runs alongside vineyards and winds its way before opening out onto a tarmac lane lined with hornbeams.
(6) Head down to your right until you reach the main road, with an old prune cooperative on your left. Turn right and walk for a few dozen metres, taking care of the traffic.
(7) Turn left towards the hamlet of Cabeillac: the only real climb of the walk. Walk through the hamlet and, at the next T-junction, turn left to reach the village and the village hall car park (S/E).
