Around Soumensac

Park in the car park at the entrance to Soumensac when coming from the D281.

(S/E) From the car park, take Rue du Château on the left towards the town hall and the church. Follow the street to the end.

(1) At the bottom of the street, on the other side of Route des Crêtes (be careful when crossing this road), there is a path leading down a gentle slope. Take this path and follow it to a road in the hamlet of Bécharde.

(2) Walk about 100 metres, cross the road and follow the path on the right. Carefully cross the D19 and continue along the path opposite until you reach the next road, Route de Chambou.

(3) Turn right towards the west and take the first path on the left. You will arrive at the Marsalou Forest.

(4) At the crossroads, turn left and continue along the path through the undergrowth. At the end of the undergrowth, turn right and walk along the edge of the forest. Continue along the path through the undergrowth opposite until you reach a road.

(5) Cross the road and continue straight ahead. Do not take the first path on the right.

(6) Turn left and follow the path to the D19.

(7) Cross it again with caution and follow the path opposite until you reach a three-way junction.

(8) Turn left towards the houses. Pass between the houses and follow the path on the right at the end of the hamlet. Continue along this path to the next hamlet. Cross the hamlet and, at the end, continue along the road opposite, which becomes a path after the farm on the left. Continue straight ahead along this path to the next farm. The path becomes a road again.

(9) Follow this road opposite. Pass the houses and continue on the road until you reach the D281.

(10) Turn right onto this road. Be very careful as cars drive fast on the main road. At the first crossroads, turn left and go up towards the village. Take the first path on the right.

(11) At the end of the lane, turn left and continue uphill along Chemin de Ronde. Follow the street and take the small steep lane on the right. At the top, follow the street opposite. Continue straight ahead towards the car park (S/E) via Rue du Château.
