Park in the car park in the centre of the village of Murat-sur-Vèbre
(S/E). From the car park, walk to the Tourist Office. Follow the narrow street uphill, then turn left and then right to reach Rue de la Griffoulède and follow it to the left. Join a small tarmac road that leads towards Bessolles.
Follow it for 600 m
(1) Go down to the left. At the stop sign, turn right along the RD169 and then right again towards Plos for a few hundred metres.
(2) Leave the road and take a path that climbs to the right and joins a track that climbs between hedges and cultivated plots. Continue north and then turn left towards the D169.
(3) At the junction with the RD169, go a few metres to the left before continuing on a track to the right. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead towards a pylon, pass it and arrive at a crossroads. Turn right and continue for 100 metres to the Jasse de Jousépet, a traditional Lacaune sheep farm (picnic table).
(4) Return to the crossroads and continue straight ahead until you reach a tarmac road.
(5) Cross this road and continue straight ahead on a track. Follow it for 100 m, turn left, then immediately right onto a hedge-lined path that descends towards the RD 622.
(6) Cross the RD622 with caution and continue straight ahead on a track that climbs between cultivated plots. You will reach a crossroads.
(7) Cross the track to go through a fence via a narrow passage (signposted "Tourelles et Crêtes"). Walk along the fence on the right for a few metres and go through a second fence (please close it behind you) to join a path. Continue downhill to the hamlet of Félines. Pass under the arch (direct sale of sheep's cheese).
(8) Continue until you reach a tarmac road at a wayside cross. Cross the road and continue straight ahead to take a covered, rocky path that climbs up to Castelas.
(9) The track leads to the Castelas orientation table (view of Murat-sur-Vèbre and the Lauze woods). Descend the path on the right to a crossroads. Turn left and follow a small tarmac road to Impasse du Rocher. Continue and turn left onto Chemin du Castelas.
(10) Follow Chemin du Castelas to a small car park. Cross it on the right and take Rue des Jacquets. Note the "Jacquets" house on the left (a former inn for pilgrims on the Way of St James) and continue to Rue de la République. Go straight on along Rue de la Rivière and reach a bridge on the left. Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead along Avenue des Lacs. At the stop sign, turn left to reach the Tourist Office (D//A).
