The start is at the ski resort car park.
(S/E) Leave the resort by heading to the left of the chairlift and following a large piste marked with yellow signs. Do not take the small path on the far left marked with snowshoe signs: this is a mountain bike trail. Continue south.
(1) Leave the main trail and the yellow markings and turn left onto a fairly wide balcony path.
Please note: at this junction, the yellow markings indicate that you should continue straight ahead, staying on the wide track.
This path follows a well-marked snowshoe route.
(2) As soon as the path begins to descend, start climbing again on the right, taking a smaller, clearly visible path (not marked on IGN maps). Continue to follow the snowshoe markings, which pass over a flat area set up for cows with a metal drinking trough. Turn right onto a track for agricultural vehicles.
(3) Leave the track and continue to follow the snowshoe route signs. There is no longer a path, but simply climb straight up the slope towards the ridge. You will eventually approach the main track.
At the hairpin bend, turn left and continue climbing, staying close to the ridge: there is no path, but the cows have left tracks. Unlike the track, this section is shaded by fir trees.
(4) You will come out onto the ridge, offering the first panoramic views. Stay on the ridge to reach a large clearing where you will eventually return to the main track that you left at point 1.
(5) From the summit of Grand Puy (1,761 m), where you will find the chairlift arrival point, stay on the ridge where the view remains clear. Begin your descent to the north-west.
(6) Enter the forest and continue straight ahead.
(7) Follow the markings down to the right. Caution: the slope is quite steep in a straight line. You will soon reach a large track.
(8) Take it on the right to return to the resort and the car park (S/E).
