Start at the Bayard Tower, Avenue du Général Teissier, on the banks of the Meuse (easy parking).
(S/E) Follow the riverbank, passing a stadium and a boules court. The riverbank is currently being developed (April 2021) but remains perfectly passable. The path follows the riverbank and passes under the motorway.
(1) Shortly after passing under the dual carriageway, the path veers away from the Meuse and runs between gardens. Further on, turn left, following the path which goes round the gardens and joins Rue de Scamaroni.
(2) At the Collège Scamaroni, turn right then left to reach the roundabout via Chemin Napoléon. Go round the roundabout on the right and continue along Rue de Warcq. Cross the Meuse via Rue du Pont.
(3) At the crossroads, turn right at the bottom of the street, pass the Romanesque church and follow the street to reach the River Sormonne, which you cross via the bridge.
(4) Immediately after the bridge, turn right and take a path that leads across the meadows. Follow this straight path until it reaches a fork in the road.
(5) At the dog club, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the Meuse and joins a track (impasse L.G. Croison).
(6) Take the second path on the right (the first is at the start of the track, just past the rocks), reach the Meuse and turn left. The path runs alongside the river, passes under the dual carriageway and leads to an industrial estate.
(7) At this point, do not turn left, but continue to follow the riverbank along a narrower path. You will reach Rue Charles Gilbert and join the footbridge via Promenade de Dülmen.
Cross the Bayard Footbridge to return to the starting point (S/E).
