Description of the walk

Park near the Tourist Office on Place Ducale.

(S/E) With your back to the square, opposite the Tourist Office, follow Rue du Moulin towards the Meuse. Cross the footbridge. Cross Quai Jean Charcot. Take the Mont Olympe footbridge to join the greenway.

(1) Turn left and walk alongside the Meuse towards the marina.

(2) Cross the footbridge at the marina and continue along the banks of the Meuse.

(3) Carry on along the banks of the Meuse.

(4) Cross the road and turn right straight away. Do not go over the bridge but carry on along the canal, continuing to follow the river.

(5) At the bridge, follow the path above the road, which will take you to the foot of the footbridge.

(1) Retrace your steps along the route you took on the way there to reach the Place Ducale (S/E).

A really lovely walk in Charleville-Mézières, which I highly recommend for its stunning Ardennes scenery!
Be sure to follow the route on the map provided carefully so as not to get lost, as part of the route is similar to the ‘Entre ville et bord de Meuse’ trail in Charleville-Mézières!

Coming from Pas-de-Calais, my wife and I did both routes in September 2026, and we highly recommend them as a way to discover this beautiful region.
