Le Puits sans Fond stream

A short walk that takes you up to the ridge before descending and going along the Puits sans Fond stream. More pleasant in dry weather, as some paths can be very wet.

Description of the walk

Start: Fléchin in front of the café (Place du Général de Gaulle).

(S/E) Head towards Laires on the D95E1. After approx. 400m, turn left onto Rue du Crocq. Pass the stadium, continue straight ahead, then turn right into Rue du Château to rejoin the D95E1.

(1) Follow it to the left for a few dozen metres, then turn right towards Boncourt.

(2) At the church, turn left into Rue Marie Defrance. At the fork, turn left and join the D95E1 at Trou sans Fond. Follow this road to the right for a few metres until you reach the calvary.

(3) Leave this road to take the path on the left, which runs due south and joins the D95.

(4) Cross it and take the track opposite (very bad at first). Ignore a track on the right, then another on the left, to reach a small road at Livossart.
Warning, in wet weather, the end of this path looks a bit like a mini pond, which seems unavoidable. Pass through the middle, trusting your shoes (the bottom looks quite firm).

(5) Follow it to the left, ignoring the small street on the left (towards the yurts) and reaching the fork. Leave the tarmac and take the path opposite. This is a fairly rough path that joins a good track.

(6) Follow this path to the left, ignoring a path on the right, then another on the left.

(7) When the path bends to the left, continue straight ahead on a track and reach a wide path near a pumping station. Continue straight ahead, passing the Puits sans Fond springs and reaching the Saint Lherbier chapel.

Turn left onto the D95. Follow it to the left. Ignore a street on the right and reach a fork. Turn right onto the D95.

(9) At the end of the bend to the left, don't miss the path to the right (just before the house). Cross the river on a rustic footbridge and continue along the stream bed (very little water) to reach a wide path.

Follow it to the right. At the T-junction, turn right and, after a left-hand bend, reach the D77. Cross the road to take the path opposite. This is a good path, but can be very wet. It leads to the Puits sans Fond stream, which you cross on a beautiful metal footbridge.

(11) Immediately afterwards, turn left along the river to reach Pippemont. You're now on the GR®127 (white and red markings), which will take you back to the starting point. When you reach the tarmac, continue straight ahead.

(12) Don't miss the beautiful path on the left that joins the river. Cross the river (recent footbridge), then turn right onto the D77. Follow it to the right to return to the car park (S/E).

It was a lovely walk on a day without rain, wind or excessive heat in July 2024. A couple of sections were a bit tricky, as the grass was very tall and hid some pretty deep ruts. This meant that we had to pass between rows of maize on the adjoining fields for safety reasons, given our skills. Otherwise, yes, very good.

A very fine walk, done in dry weather, so very practicable; in autumn and spring it must be more sporty.

We did this walk as a family in dry weather, so there was no difficulty with the mud for us (the stream was dry, and the passage marked as difficult, we didn't see it!) ), with some lovely views along the way.
This was our first hike without following signs, and thanks to all the indications, it was very easy and enjoyable, even for us beginners! Thank you so much!

Nice hike, but some of the paths are not very practicable over short distances.

There is a picnic table between numbers 11 and 12 at the Plouy bridge.
This is a magnificent walk to do when the rapeseed is in flower.
Very beautiful path.

A very pleasant and well-described walk. Be sure to take the time to read the instructions on the map carefully, as the route is not signposted in any way.

Very nice and varied route, paths (despite a section in very poor condition following the torrential rain during the week) and landscapes. Very little tarmac

route taken despite less than favourable conditions, but much appreciated by the group.
thank you to the author of this hike

We did this walk yesterday afternoon, it was a lovely day in the sunshine, you really get out into the countryside, between fields, meadows and woods, very pleasant.
I'd like to thank the author of this walk, who described the route very well.
2 sections are marked as difficult, but nothing more, it's still very manageable,
At the end of the route, there was a short passage in the bed of the stream, but as it was a dry period, we had no difficulty.
But I don't think that should stop hikers from having to wade through a bit of mud if need be.
The only downside of the day, which is not due to the hike itself, is that it's hunting season, so be careful.

We did this hike this morning, in the 1st part there is a section of the route that should be cleared of undergrowth because in a short time we won't be able to go through it because of the brambles! Otherwise a very nice walk with magnificent views and pretty little paths.

Very nice circuit varied by its route, its paths, its landscapes. Very little tarmac, so much the better ...... As we don't use GPS, we appreciated the written description of the route and the map, which must be fun to do in wet weather !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
