Le Pian-sur-Garonne walks

A route through the heart of the vineyards, exploring vineyard huts, winegrowing and nature. Along the route, QR codes are available to find out more about these three themes. Starting from the town hall in Pian-sur-Garonne, the first QR code will tell you more about this walk.

Starting from the City Stade car park and the school (below the town hall of Pian-sur-Garonne), this hilly route alternates between vineyard paths, forest trails and nature trails, offering ideal terrain for trail running, but also suitable for mountain biking or, of course, hiking.Throughout the route, you will enjoy magnificent panoramic views: over the Garonne valley, with views of Saint-Macaire and Langon, the villages of Verdelais and Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, and a passage near the Château de Malromé, dear to Toulouse-Lautrec.It is a varied route that combines physical effort, nature and the discovery of the region's wine-growing heritage.

Circular route starting from Loupiac, in the hills of Entre Deux Mers. A mix of rural paths, farm tracks and narrow, quiet tarmac roads with passable verges. Very varied and changing hilly landscapes: vineyards, meadows, copses, little urbanisation. Stable terrain, regular ascents and descents spread throughout the route.

A lovely walk through the Loupiac vineyards, between paths and a few sections of road. The latter are always topped by an embankment for those who don't like tarmac... Located on the right bank of the Garonne, about 40 kilometres south-east of Bordeaux. Moderator update on 30/03/2021: Please note! There are private property issues between (8) and (10). An easy walk around the village of Roaillan, passing close to the Masseilles mill and offering views of Roquetaillade Castle.

A round-trip walk through the forest along the banks of the Ciron, from Bommes to the Caussarieu rest area, near Léogeats. Several beaches along the Ciron punctuate the walk, perfect for cooling off. Picnic tables are available at the Caussarieu rest area.

This route starts in Podensac and takes you along the Garonne and its traditional fishing huts, through some wooded areas and across vineyards. The start of the walk is near the municipal estate of Chavat, built in the early 20th century by an industrialist. It features copies of ancient statues and has been designated a ‘remarkable garden’. The water tower that supplied the estate was the first building constructed in France by Le Corbusier.

A short walk through the vineyards of the Entre-Deux-Mers. This hilly region offers pleasant scenery. The route is quite varied, with a few gentle ascents and descents.

The route has been beautifully redeveloped; it is pleasant and tree-lined. An ideal walk for nature lovers.

Circular route through the countryside, alternating between undergrowth and open spaces, with a few short sections on roads.

A very easy circular loop along the old Villandraut–Bazas railway line, now a tarmac cycle path. Suitable for children aged 6 and over. Largely accessible by bike; only a short section is on a dirt track. You cycle amongst oak and pine trees, crossing the River Ciron twice.

This route takes you along the banks of the Ciron from Villandraut, simply following the GR®6 trail that links the Alps to Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Shade and coolness await you on this easy, pleasant walk in summer.

At the very tip of the Gironde, on the border with Lot-et-Garonne, between the cantons of Auros and Grignols: a hilly, oak-wooded and very quiet area. Well worth a visit... except in October and November during the wood pigeon hunting season.
