Along the Gave de Brousset from Soques

A round trip along the Gave de Brousset, offering superb views of the surrounding mountains. The route is often shaded. If you are not sensitive to the cold, you can swim in the river.

Description of the walk

Park in the small car park at Soques or on the side of the RD934.

(S/E) With your back to the road, take the path and descend towards the Gave de Brousset. Cross the footbridge to reach a fork.

(1) Take the GR® 108A on the left to reach the Cabane de Brousset.

(2) Make a small detour towards the ruins of the hut, then resume the path to the dolmen.

(3) Pass the small Turon Bouchouse (dolmen) and arrive at another footbridge.

(4) Cross the footbridge (swimming spot). Then take the same path in the opposite direction to return to the car park (S/E).

Notes

Wear closed shoes or hiking boots.
Although very clear and cool, it is not advisable to drink water from streams.
Beware of livestock.

Swimming is possible in the river.
Cheese sold at the huts in Soques.
Park visitor centre at the Pourtalet Pass.
