The hike starts in the village square of Chichiliane, behind the church, near the park house and rural lodges.
(S/E) Head south towards the park information signs and hiking signs.
Turn left towards Col du Prayet and continue along a small tarmac road. A few metres further on, you will see a remarkable and rather bizarre tree with a small explanatory sign.
A little further on, ignore the path that branches off to the right towards Pas de l'Essaure and continue along the small road.
(1) Ignore the paths on the right and left; the route makes a sort of S-shape and enters the forest. After crossing the ravine, the slope becomes a little steeper. Continue along the path, which becomes a trail. Arrive at a place called La Clavelière (farm) and continue in the same direction; the climb continues to Col du Prayet.
(2) Join the Col de Mené departmental road (D7) which leads to the Diois region. Just above the road, there is a picnic area where you can take a short break. To return, follow the road downhill for about 400 metres.
(3) Take the track on the right which climbs slightly towards Bergerie des Ayes. Pass the sheepfold to rejoin the path which descends from Platary.
(4) Pass in front of the Source des Ayes, which springs from under a tree. There is a remarkable drinking trough for animals. Then descend to the left until you reach the departmental road, which you must cross. Continue on the left side of the road until you reach the intersection at a place called Les Oches.
(5) Turn left towards Chichilianne and return to the starting point via the road in just under a kilometre (S/E).
