The walk starts at the car park opposite the old Guebwiller station, along Avenue du Maréchal Foch.
(S/E) Turn right along the car park. At the bridge, cross the Lauch and then the Route de Colmar.
Yellow Disc markings
(1) Turn slightly left onto the Chemin du Kitterle and turn right at the first fork to stay on the same path. Take the first bend to the left and at the second, turn completely right to stay on the same path. Enjoy the view of Guebwiller and the Lauch valley during the climb. Ignore a track coming from the left that leads to the vineyards. At the next junction, turn left onto a paved path and follow it to the end.
(2) Turn left and then quickly turn right onto an uphill path through the forest. Continue almost straight ahead at the next fork and you will soon reach a four-way junction.
(3) Head slightly left onto a winding path through the undergrowth, leading to La Roche du Coucou, and reach the site at the end of the climb.
(4) Turn right onto a path and, at the junction with the first track, head straight on to the next crossroads.
Red Ring markings
(5) Head straight on towards Berghotzzell and continue straight on again at the next junction to reach a viewpoint.
Take the opportunity to admire the villages of Berghotzzell and Orschwihr.
(6) Continue along the path to reach the Chemin des Carrières.
(7) Turn sharply right and, at the next junction, head down to the left towards Bergholtzzell. Then turn right at the next fork and left at the following one to reach a track; follow this to the right until you reach a sharp left-hand junction.
(8) Turn left, keep right at the first junction, then go straight on at the second.
Blue Ring signposting
Continue straight on at the third junction.
Blue Ring and Red Ring markings
Leave a track coming from the right to walk through the vineyards with views of the surrounding area.
No markings
Turn right at the next junction and follow the track to the road.
(9) Turn left onto a discreet path that runs alongside an underground pipe before becoming a dry stream bed. At this point: cross to the other side of the stream to follow a better-marked path to the next road.

Continue left along this path to the entrance of Mont Calvaire de l’Oelberg.
(10) Turn left to visit the site. Otherwise, continue straight ahead.

Take the first street on the right (Rue du Vignoble). At the end of the street, turn left onto Rue Principale and stay on this street until you reach a fountain.

(11) Continue straight on at the fountain. Carry on straight at the next three junctions and reach the fourth.
(12) Turn right onto Grand Rue.
No signposting
Turn left at the first street (Rue du Centre) and follow it to the church.
(13) Turn left and then right onto Route de Soultzmatt, passing in front of Orschwihr Town Hall.
Green Ring signposting
You’ll come to a playground, then carry straight on to reach a chapel (Chapelle de Saint-Wolfgang). Go to the left of it to reach a junction.
(14) Turn left onto a track and continue straight on at every junction until you have crossed a stream. You will then come out onto a road; cross it and take the path opposite which climbs towards the ruins of Stettenberg Castle. Take your time to admire the castle ruins.
(15) Continue climbing the path, turn left when you reach the track, then right at the first junction.
Yellow Cross markings
At the four-way junction, head straight on and start the climb. Cross a first track that leads nowhere before arriving immediately afterwards on another path.
(16) Turn right onto this track and take the first path on the left. Leave this path and turn right after 100 m. At the T-junction, go straight on and rejoin a track.
(17) Follow it to the right and continue right at the next fork. Stay on the same path until you reach the Col de Bannstein.
Markings: Yellow Cross and Red Ring
(18) Head straight on at the pass and take the first path on the left, which passes near a football pitch. Make a sharp 90° turn to the left. Pass near the rocks of the Hochfelsen and take the opportunity to stop for a break.
(19) Then rejoin the trail and turn left onto the track.

Quickly turn right onto the path which cuts across a hairpin bend and rejoins the track a little further up.

(20) Continue left along a track and go straight on at the first junction to reach a second one.

(21) Turn sharply right and continue straight on at the next junction until the end of the path.

Complete this circular loop.
(20) Follow the route back in the opposite direction and return to the Col du Bannstein.

(18) Take the first path on the right and continue straight on at the next two junctions until you reach the Chapelle Saint-Gangolph. Take the opportunity to stop for a break
(22) Continue straight on.

Ignore a path coming from the right to reach a Y-junction.
(23) Turn left to begin the final climb of the route. Keep right at the next two junctions and, at the third, turn left uphill to reach a four-way junction.
(24) Take the right-hand path and keep to the right at every junction until you reach the Col du Dreibannstein and its shelter.

(25) At the pass, take the path leading down towards Guebwiller.

Then head straight on along a track and continue straight on at the next four crossroads. Shortly after the fourth crossroad, you’ll reach a junction.

(26) Take the path furthest to the right and continue straight on until you reach the starting point of the first circular loop.

(3) Follow the route back in the opposite direction to return to the old Guebwiller railway station (S/E).
