Holsworthy walks

This is an easy family walk around Upper Tamar Lake. On your way, you can even use bird-watching facilities!

Staying at the small campsite, the walk follows a route through the narrow country lanes past the Parkham Farms Dairy, who produce cheese for the likes of Tesco. Passing many other features which individually may take one's interest. Arriving at Bucks Cross, and the main A39 Atlantic Highway. Care when crossing, then taking the lane downhill towards Bucks Mills. As the lane winds a way downhill, passing a Church and many dwellings. Making the way downhill and following the stream, through the wooded valley has a lot to look out for. Near the bottom is the old Mill House and onto the sea passing a National Trust cottage associated with two famous painters. On the shingle/ pebble beach and NE there is a waterfall worth getting a closer look at. SW direction is the adjacent town of Clovelly. The return route follows the same way until Bucks Cross, whereby picking up the directions for Woolfardisworthy (Woolsery). Pass through Woolsery and then return following the markers/ directions

This short walk with ascents and descents explores Stowe Woods and Stibb Woods. You can visit Stowe Barton Farmhouse and Coombe village on your way.

This circular walk with ascents and descents From Duckpool Bay uses the South West Coast path along Warren Gutter and Stowe Cliffs. Then, you will discover peaceful woods and Coombe Valley inland.

This circular walk from Great Torrington goes past the Golf Club next to Furzebeam Hill overlooking the valley. Then the path heads to Rolle Canal and follows the River Torridge before you join Traka Trail.

This circular walk explores the coast next to Cambeak and Tremoutha Haven by the South West Coast path from Crackington Haven to The Strangles. Then you will use peaceful paths inland along a stream in East Wood.

During this varied circular walk with ascents and descents (can be very slippery during wet conditions), you will walk across Beckland Wood, then discover Brownsham cliff along the South West Coast path before going down to Mouthmill beach. The way back uses tracks in Brownsham Wood.

This circular walk from Stoke provides a good way to discover Hartland Quay surrounded by impressive cliffs and contorted rock layers. Then, the return route goes past an old lookout house in ruins and follows Abbey River.

This is a very short walk and quite flat in a loop which leads to Eldern Point (Liberator Bomber crash site) using the coastal path. Go back to the beautiful East Titchberry farm by tracks inland.

The walk starts at Lydford and makes its way up onto open moorland. It is a day walk. On a clear day, there will be far-reaching views, and on a not-so-clear day, refreshing navigation skills. This walk will lead you into open moorland. From (4) to (7), the route doesn't follow paths on the map. It is strongly recommended that you follow the route using the GPX on the Visorando app, with the backup of a map and compass. This circular walk explores the gorgeous coast next to Hartland Point (the most Northwesterly point in Devon) and follows the South West coast path along impressive Smoothlands and cliffs. Then, you take quiet paths inland close to Blegberry and Blagdon Farm.

The wild open speces of Dartmoor can be appreciated on this walk. The route takes you past a number of rocky tors, visits an area used for peat cutting and follows a section of the Rattlestone Peat Railway. All in all a walk full of interest.

This is a small (but often wet and slippery, be careful with children!) spectacular hike along the River Lyd in a loop. You will discover the deepest river gorge in the south-west using several impressive footbridges over the gorge and you will see a beautiful waterfall too.

This nice walk explores Bodmin Moor using paths next to Little Rough Tor until you reach Brown Willy summit (420m) with spectacular views. The return way uses mainly pretty flat paths around Rough Tor and goes past Fernacre Stone Circle.

It's an easy family walk in Bodmin Moor leading to stunning 360° viewpoints from Showery and Rough Tors. It's a lovely place to enjoy the colors of sunset as well!

This route takes the Southerly route to the Brown Willy Tor, you will be entering open moorland. An alternative route to the highest Tor in Cornwall UK. Not so much a circular walk but more like a there-and-back walk, although variations and or additions to the plotted route can be made, subject to competence in remote walking. Shortly after the first waypoint, the route doesn't follow paths on the map. It is strongly recommended that you follow the route using the GPX on the Visorando app.
