I think you went too far, its quite tight to the tor you need to keep. Although this time of year the ferns have overgrown the paths with various re Wilding going on.

There hasn’t been much wet weather so I don’t think so. We tried very hard to find a path but there seemed to be no way through or any path visible. There were a couple of walkers a good way ahead of us and they climbed up to the Tor as well but obviously I don’t know what route they were on.

I am sorry to read you encountered some issues. Do you think it is because it was wet weather ? Or because the path doesn't exist anymore ?

Started out enjoying this walk along the leat and up the river. Then we came to a small waterfall and had to climb up the bank. The route directions then said there would be a less steep piece of ground to loop behind Ger Tor. We could not find any path going forward and the ground was all marshland and impossible to pass. We then had to climb up the very steep, uneven and soggy grassland to the top of the Tor which was not enjoyable at all.

An absolute gem of a walk. Granted, very short distance wise, but the scenery and sense of remoteness more than make up for that. Very peaceful place and amazing views all around. We were lucky enough to do it on a sunny day and the sparkling waters of the rushing River Tavy were just beautiful.__
