Route from Clémencey to L’Abergement in Frangy-en-Bresse
In the north-east of the Burgundian Bresse, Frangy-en-Bresse stretches from east to west for around 10 km. It shares a natural border with the Jura via the River Seille. A Natura 2000-designated wetland area, between the Seille and the Seillette, created for the preservation of wildlife, is particularly rich in bird and plant species. Along the trail, you can pass through the commune’s many hamlets and discover fortified houses and Bresse-style farmhouses.
The ponds of the Jura Bresse
Between plains, vineyards and hills, discover Commenailles, a typical village in the Bresse region of the Jura, set in unspoilt countryside with rolling hills, ponds and forests, home to many protected species. Throughout the route, you will discover beautiful Bresse-style houses.
Sentier des Grands Bois in Louhans
Surrounded by waterways, Louhans, of Burgundian origin, means "pleasant place by the water". Over the centuries, the town has developed thanks to trade. The medieval town has preserved its main street with 157 arcades, one of the longest in France. On Monday mornings, there is a large market, including a poultry market.
The Revermont ridges
A hike for those who like to climb high. Right from the start, you can enjoy the view over the Bresse plain, with a view stretching as far as the Burgundy coast.
The Lavoir de Tuile circuit
A pleasant hike in the hills above Lons-le-Saunier. You will pass a completely isolated wash house, climb up to the Belvédère de Montaigu, descend into the middle of the Val de Sorne golf course, and walk along paths accompanied by birdsong and the sound of flowing water. This is a well-marked and well-maintained circuit with two significant climbs.
Les Chandelettes, viewpoints and fountains from Saint-Laurent-la-Roche
The village of Saint-Laurent-la-Roche is located in the Revermont hills and boasts a listed church, viewpoints over the Bresse Jura, a waterfall and fountains.
The Montorient viewpoint from Saint-Laurent-la-Roche
A family walk that allows you to discover the Montorient site by crossing the village of Geruge.
The return journey is along the ridges, where the path crosses a pasture with superb views of La Bresse.
Crève-Coeur circular
A pleasant circular starting from Maynal, crossing the fields and pastures at the bottom of the valley, the vineyards on the sunny slopes, and the meadows and woods on the hillsides. Most of the route is shaded. Lovely views of the Bresse plain and the villages of Revermont.
Perrigny - Châtillon
Ninth stage of the Échappée Jurassienne. This transitional stage marks the end of a region full of unexpected treasures, including salt mines, majestic forests, vineyards, charming villages and iconic remote areas, and takes you to the Pays des Lacs et des Cascades (Land of Lakes and Waterfalls). A winding balcony trail will take you to the first plateau with its pastures, farms and small villages. Overlooking the Ain valley, you will end this route in Châtillon, where you will catch a glimpse of the first foothills of the Jura.

In the vineyards of Château-Chalon
Perched on the cliffs of Revermont, Château-Chalon, dear to the heart of writer Bernard Clavel, watches over the Jura vineyards. This village offers magnificent views of the vineyards and nearby valleys, and you will enjoy strolling among the old houses. Return via a Roman road and the Tuquière viewpoint with its cabordes (stone shelters).

The Reculées de Baume-les-Messieurs
This route will give you an overview of these great glacial valleys of the Jura.
Tour of the cliffs of Baume-les-Messieurs
This circular offers no difficulties other than its length and features varied landscapes. The hike is divided into three parts: a gentle climb to the gently sloping plateau; a nearly flat walk around the cliffs; and a descent back down.
The Caracoins trail in Petit-Noir
Four-kilometre trail with educational panels on seven themes related to natural and man-made environments and their associated biodiversity. Near the Mératon Sensitive Natural Area, you can enjoy views of oxbow lakes and reed beds and perhaps spot some wildlife!
Conliège circular route via the viewpoints and tunnels
This lovely, easy walk will take you to the Conliège hermitage and then, via forest paths, to various viewpoints overlooking Lons-le-Saunier and the Revigny valley. The return journey follows the greenway and passes through various viaducts and tunnels (including the famous 100-Step Tunnel, which you can choose to visit and walk through on the way there and back).
The Châteaux de la Sauge and Frontenay
Discover Frontenay and Passenans via the hazelnut grove at Château de la Sauge. Along the way, you can explore Château de Frontenay and its chapel.
The Gizia Reculée
A short hike to discover a lesser-known but no less beautiful Jura valley. The loop starts behind the church in Gizia, a small village where the Gizia river has its source. Then a fairly steep but generally shaded climb leads to the village of Le Chanelet, at the top of the 220m high cliff. The Belvédère de Chanelet offers a breathtaking view of the Bresse and Mâconnais regions.

A lovely route along shaded, unmarked paths in the woods around Varessia. An easy route suitable for the whole family. Come and discover the chapel, the ridge and the Maison des Blaireaux de Varessia. The diverse forest of Varessia is home to magnificent flora and trees!
